Hmm
- Is anyone out there faithful?  Damn!  I swear, sometimes I wish I didn't know the things that people tell me. Now, this doesn't apply to me, because I'm very obviously not in a relationship, but… It seems almost everyone that I know that is in a relationship, is screwing around on his or her partner. And this is especially true for the friends I know who are in gay relationships. I mean, holy shit, what sort of hope does this give me that I'll ever have the chance of finding someone who won't be screwing around on me, AND, will this mean that it's very realistic that I too, will be unable to resist the temptation of fooling around on my significant other?  I will be honest, just hearing these stories scares me, and yet, I totally understand the underlying motivations, and furthermore I can't say that I wouldn't do the exact same thing in that situation!  I hate to sound jaded, but it really makes me doubt the "reality" or possibility of a true, happy, monogamous relationship.

Ahh
- Nice night tonite.  I had a good solo night with some quality Adam time.  I went and worked out while I did laundry at our nice facilities here.  Afterwards, while I waited for my clothes to dry, I took a dip in the pool.  It was the perfect night for it, and the pool was all warm and dark... Very relaxing, especially after a great workout.  I got some good thinking done.

Concert: Dave Matthews
- A fun filled adventurous day with my friend Eric in town, as we trolloped around town.  We went down to Little Five to walk the streets of the closed stores... simply because we had nothing better to do.  We had a great lunch at Los Bravos, and went back to my Apt to get ready for the night.  We headed down to HiFi Buys Amphitheatre to see the Dave Matthews Band.  We also ended up connecting with my friends Brian, Brett, Alyssa, and her sister Amanda.  The 6 of us had a blast as we all got our drink on and generally made asses of ourselves.  What a blast though.  I'm not sure I've had a better time at a concert in recent memory.

Hmm
- Yah, it's been a while since I last posted, and it felt right to throw up some words just so that people didn't think that I died or perhaps otherwise left this world.  The simple fact of things really boils down to this move.  Since moving into this new apartment, things have remained busy.  With unpacking, and getting into a totally new routine, it's kept me on my toes.  But I am loving the new setup.  I'm really getting this place into shape.  I'm very happy with the way things have worked out.

Rave: House Of God - Johan Gielen - After sleeping a record 14 hours (!) last night, I woke up for the first time in the longest time without having to rush off somewhere with only 4 hours of sleep.  With the move and so much going on lately, I just haven't had the time to sleep.  Today was a nice change.  I ran to Lawrenceville and picked up a couple things, and ran some errands, then dashed back here to setup my bed (finally), and get ready to head to the Globe for a rave.  Johan Gielen was the headliner tonite, a UK house DJ from Holland.  I wasn't familiar with him, but a majority of my friends told me good things... and I was just looking for an excuse to get out and party... So I arrived down there and hooked up with Chuck, Amy, and Will and shook booty all nite long.  So many hotties there tonite!  Urrrrrh...  A lot of fun... Just before I left, I got to see my friend Junior whom I haven't seen in forever!  I will definitely put Johan on the list of DJ's to see again!

Move In Day
- Well... As it turns out... For a few reasons, I needed to bump up my move-in date.  So, yesterday, I went and go the keys.  The girl at the leasing office was cool and isn't going to charge me for the 2 extra days.  It's about 11pm as I write this, perhaps the last news bite from my Lawrenceville headquarters, but, thus far, there isn't much over at the pad.  I have the Z93 Ford Excursion here though, so I'm about to go fill that to the brim and take a load over.  So far, no complaints.  It's a small cozy pad, but, it's well done, and is going to suit me perfect.

Rave:  Deja Vu Deux - Day 2
- Went back up to the Globe tonight for the 2nd night of raving.  Tonite, the Prophecy Collective, Spacemen, and a few others were on the agenda.  I got there around 1am since I was running late and was going to end up missing Rick West, and didn't mind missing Prophecy... but as it turned out, the timeslots were all askew and Prophecy didn't come on til 3am, followed immediately by Spacemen.  Feelgood was on beforehand and did a good job keeping things energetic.  Prophecy wasn't bad, but predictable with pretty much the identical show they put on each time they come through town.  I did get a free CD though, so I can't hate too much.  Spacemen, while campy, were very enjoyable.  I love their style of tunes... almost electro in style.  Good fun.  It was a great night and a lot of fun hanging out with Chuck, that didn't end up wrapping up til around 5am.  After which I drove back to Lawrenceville to shower and throw down a quick breakfast.  I then left at 6:45am to take Steve to the airport for a business trip, dropped him off, and doubled-back to the radio station where I hung out til 3pm with our Chief Engineer so that he and I could make sure that the radio station stayed on the air while our office building did work on the power grid of the building.  I finally got home and majorly assed out til around 10pm.  It was a crazy day, but tons of fun, and totally something different.

Rave:  Deja Vu Deux - Day 1  - Deja Vu Deux went down tonight at the Globe with Baby Anne, Icey, and Irene.  It was a great turnout, despite the $28-$35 ticket price.... The price does include TWO nights of tunes... tonight is just part one... I got there around 1ish, and was thankful to have no line, which suprised me because of the large number of cars in the lot.  Icey was on, and was sending out some great classic Icey breaks, and even spun a remix of the really cool Dirty Vegas tune "Days Go By"... After Icey, DJ Irene came on, and WOW... what a great pleasure that was.  I had heard much about her, and this was my first time seeing Irene (to my knowledge/recollection)… and she did not disappoint!  She came on with a huge burst of energy, and threw out the Hard House tunes loud and proud!  The crowd ate it up big time.  I could not tear myself from the dancefloor during her entire 1 and a half hour set.  I will definitely be seeing her again!  I also got a chance to enjoy some quality from my pal-o-pals, Jeff, aka DJ Invisible out back… It was good times, hanging with my very good friend Chuck, Amy, and Jeff, Mike and the rest of the crew.  I look forward to Saturday nights party, but I cannot see what can top Irene’s massive performance tonight.

Rave: Deja Vu Deux Pre-Party
- Went to the Globe tonight, for the first time in a long time.  There really hasn't been that many good parties lately.  After I got back from my Miami trip earlier this year, the scene has been sorta dry... or maybe I'm just comparing it too much to Miami... In either event, I've just been sorta waiting it out.  Well tonight, VinylBoy threw a free party to gear the city up for his Deja Vu Deux next weekend.  Free always works, and DJ Santana is usually fun, so I headed over and enjoyed myself.  Hanging out with Chuck for a good part of the night and also seeing various friends including Kenneth was great.

Exterior colorEngage Mobile 99
- Well poor 'lil Mobile 4 had a problem last week.  On Friday, the ignition switch failed and I had to rig it up so I could get home from the station.  I stayed up all Friday night and drove my car over to Lanier Honda this morning when they opened at 7 am.  It didn't take them long to confirm that the ignition switch had in fact failed, and would need to be replaced... Luckily for me, the timing couldn't have been better.  Honda apparently issued a recall 2 weeks ago about the ignition switch in Preludes stating:  "ELECTRICAL CONTACTS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH CAN DEGRADE DUE TO THE HIGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT PASSING THROUGH THE SWITCH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED.  WORN CONTACTS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.  DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH."  Not surprisingly, I was pleased, since I was looking at a $400-500 repair if I had to pay for it out of pocket... To boot, Lanier Honda found that there was another recall issued in 1999 having to do with the ball joints (no jokes) on the front suspension.  The previous owners never got it repaired, so they are taking care of that, plus giving me a full tune up, and oil change... all for free.... as if that weren't enough, since the parts aren't all in, they are providing me a rental car free of charge (see pictured:  ACC Mobile 99, a Saturn SL2) to drive while my car gets repaired.  Sweet!  I miss Mobile 4 already, but I'm really diggin gettin' $800+ of car work for free!  =)

Movie
- Went and saw Undercover Brotha tonite with Brian and a couple of his friends.  Funny movie.  If you liked slapstick, innuendo, humor sort of flicks, you'll enjoy this movie.  I can't go so far as to say I'd buy this movie or anything, but it was good fun.  =)

Oh, I Forgot To Tell You!
- It's official... I found my new apartment!  I'll be moving into my new apartment at Post Dunwoody near the end of June.  It's a nice lil one bedroom pad that is loaded with the niceties of life that a person just has to have in this day and age!  It's also right on the MARTA line so I can cruise to class as needed with relative ease.  I'm psyched... I'm sure I'll plan a lil get together at the ACC party pad (complete with party porch) very soon, so check back.

Movie
- I went and saw "About A Boy" tonight.  This was a cute flick and while certainly not everyone's cup of tea, it was well done and very enjoyable.  If you're in touch with your sensitive side, go and check this movie out.  Hugh Grant does a great job in this flick.  It's essentially about a fairly bitter and jaded guy who has romantically played the scene his whole life and hasn't had to work after living off his father's money... when he finds a larger meaning to his life.  It's not completely as cheesy and Hollywood cookie cutter as most films these days, and if you enjoy British humor, you will enjoy the film.  =)

Meep-Meep
- I made my way out to Stone Mountain Park today for our Z93 "America" Live in Concert / Memorial Weekend celebration.  There was a huge turnout and I had a great time kickin some serious VIP up in there with the catered food, and drivin around golf carts all day like a mad man.  That was all class if ya know what I mean.  And.. me thinks ya do!

John Mayer
- Went down to On The Bricks at Centennial Olympic Park downtown tonight to see John Mayer.  What a great show he played.  The crowd was hyped and he was hyped about the turnout.  He played some great tunes, and made some funny remarks between songs.  The weather couldn't have been better for an outdoor show like that.  The almost full moon made it spectacular

Concert: Green Day & Blink 182
- Much fun tonight as Alyssa and Brian and I went up to HiFi Buys Amphitheatre for Green Day and Blink.  Green Day absolutely threw it down with a great show with some awesome crowd interaction.  While Blink wasn't as involved or as heavy as a show, they did a great job too with their specialty brand of humor.  It was a great show and being tanked always helps!

Tennessee Aquarium... And then some - Fun day today... Brian, Eric, Gerrell, and I took my Mom's Suburban and drove up to Chattanooga, Tennessee to see the Tennessee Aquarium.  Mapquest told us it was a 3 hour drive, but we managed it in 1 and a half.  It was a fun ride complete with smack talking and showing out.  Once we got to Chattanooga we got our tickets and grabbed some lunch at Mellow Mushroom.  Good pie.  I was impressed with the Aquarium.  It was quite big, and had helluva lot more than I expected.  We made our way through and then headed over to the IMAX theater to watch a special on the Space Station narrated by mister Top Gun: Tom Cruise.  That was also fairly cool and inspired the thought among some of how fun it would be to have sex in space.  Once that mess was done, we loaded up and headed back to Atlanta, where we popped in at Brian's house out in Stone Mountain.  We chilled out there for a good bit before taking off to go climb Stone Mountain.... which we did... (minus Gerrell)... After our mountain climb we cruised around Stone Mountain and popped in at the Dunkin Donuts and local Checkers before taking off back for Brian's house where we proceeded to watch the movie K-Pak.  Interested flick... After the movie, we headed out and went up to my house in Lawrenceville to pick up some stuff and doubled back to Brian's dorm at Georgia Tech where we proceeded to chill out and cause trouble.  I didn't get home til around 10am and grabbed a quick 3 hours of sleep before I had to wake up for a Mother's Day Cookout we were having at the house.  But it was well worth it.  A kick ass day!

Music Midtown 2002 - What a whirlwind weekend this has been!!!!...  From last nights late night dorm drink fest with Brian which caused us to miss our way to Music Midtown, to today's festivities.  I had an Accounting final today at noon, which i had to drag my hungover ass out of bed for...  Let it be said that i "did not give my best performance" on that exam.  Not so much that I was hungover and tired as hell, but that I HATE accounting.... After that insanity, I picked Brian up from Tech and we made our way to Music Midtown to see Flickerstick.  I was a bit clueless about them, but I was pleasantly surprised.  The weekend's rain had made the open area grass field a mud pit, but that did nothing to hamper our fun.  They put on a great show.  Afterwards, we made our way over to the 99X stage to meet up with my friends Chuck and Amy...always a lovely sight for my eyes!  Chuck, Brian and I pulled some serious 007 action and scammed our way into the Turner South indoor acoustic concert with Don McLean, June Carter Cash, Mike Mills, Cindy Wilson, and Edwin McCain... it was peppered with some stellar preformaces and a great warm-up song from Doria Roberts.  I really enjoyed that indoor show.  After that ended, Brian and I headed back to GSU to change and pick up Brett at Tech to go see Spiderman... Good flick... don't be lame, go see it.   It's been a great night and I'm bushed... I'm out!

Biznasss - Long time no post eh?... Yah, this is true, but things have been busy as of late.  I've been busy as hell at work designing some ASP code to show the "Now Playing" song on the air show up on the website.  In addition, the school semester is coming to an end soon, so there is an abundance of work to deal with the finals and whatnot.  Music Midtown is next weekend and aside from the fact that I have a final on that Saturday, and on the Monday following the festival, it should be a good time to party.  I'm on the air tonight midnight to 6am, AND tomorrow night from 9pm to 1am once again.  That should be some fun.  I'm considering going to the mountains tomorrow to go hiking, but we will see how that plays out.  OH, and since I officially have decided NOT to return to the dorms next year, I have been casually looking for an apartment.  I think I found the complex I want to move into, and I will be working out details to try and move in there August 1st... we shall see.   Let's see... what else is going on... ummm... oh yah!... I'm excited that my friends Gerrell and Eric will be coming to Atlanta in a couple of weeks.  We are all geared up for some good times.   I think that about catches things up for now.  I'll be sure to bring you more life drama - as it occurs.

Hump Day, My A$$ - Man this has been an absolutely most insane week.  My sleep schedule is still all askew to the extreme, and I know staying up till all hours of the AM partyin' with friends doesn't help, but... come on.  It was a productive day at work today though.  One of those days where you have a sheet full of stuff that needs fixing, and you just plow through, high on several cans of Mountain Dew, fixin' shit like nobody's bidness!

Cause 311's Got The Boom Yall - 311 returned to the Tabernacle tonight and what a show.  I met up with Justin and his friend and Jeff here at the dorms and hiked it over the the Tabernacle.  We did a little pre-party beving in Mobile 4 then went in to catch about 4 songs from Hoobastank.  311 came on shortly after to an insane crowd.  We were all on the floor of course and began working our way towards the front... which we managed to do in short order.  It was soooo hot, and so packed in there.  Anyone not used to that would have panicked but I that is just how the pit at 311 goes.  I was smiles the whole time and every time I caught Justin or Jeff's eye, I got the same from them.  Pal's and 311... Nothing better.  311 brought out an arsenal of great tunes from their collection, peppered with a few new and many classics.  Nick Hexum's stage dive during the encore capped a great performance.  I was lucky enough to get a 311 guitar pick.  Unlike last time, which was one of Tim's, this one was actually Nick Hexum's (see the pics).  After the show, Justin and I hung around around back of the Tabernacle for the possible meet and greet opportunity with 311.  After a long wait, we were rewarded with visits from P-Nut and SA (the bassist and one of the vocalists for 311).  I got pictures with both and got them to sign a poster of mine.  It was a real treat, and although I was unable to meet the entire band this time around, I was very satisfied with the way the night went.  A true treat to the beginning of a very busy yet exciting week!

"Oh What A Day" - I was sick of sleep-late-and-do-nothing Saturdays, so I decided not to sleep in and get up and drive up to the mountains and hike a little bit and just see something different.  It was the perfect weather for it... Partly cloudy and about 70 with a good breeze.  There was a slight chance of showers, but I decided to give it a whirl anyhow.  I left around 1 after grabbing a Subway 'samich and fillup the car up with petrol.  I left straight from the dorms and decided to go check out Anna Ruby Falls.  My Dad had taken me there as a 'lil tyke so I wanted to see how much I remembered.  Plus you cant go wrong with waterfalls.   It took me about an hour and 15 minutes... 45 minutes less than Mapquest told me... So, I was happy.  I did the very short hike up to the falls and took the sights in, snapped a few pics, and hiked back.  It was about 4p at this point so I decided to detour on my way home and stop in and see my Dad at his place since it was sorta nearby.  I hung out there and had dinner with my Dad and step mom Carolyn, then left there around 7ish.  I stopped by the Lawrenceville house to get mail and such, and GaTech Brian invited me over for some drinking.  I was game and headed back to the GSU dorms to change and whatnot.  I finally got over to his dorms and started pounding some bev's... I can tell you that doing shots of vodka and chasing it with Smirnoff Ice will get you hammered fast.  We all had a good time and Brian's and by around 4am people started headin out... rounding out what was a great, and quite eventful Saturday.

Soup Chef Virginity Lost
- I was hungry and wanted something, but I wasn't quite sure what... So I did some web surfing (good ole web)... and found a recipe for a soup that sounded yummy.  So I rode by the Krogahz on the way back to the dorms and picked up the needed ingredients and then came back and made a very impressive (if I say so myself) Corn and Crabmeat Bisque... from scratch baby!.  Yum... To boot, Alyssa was over since she had to leave early in the AM for her trip to New Mexico to see her real dad that she hasn't seen in like 13 years... So it was a big night.  Kick-ass soup, and quality Alyssa time.

Music Midtown
- I waltzed into work and was there all of about 20 minutes, before I was whisked away with friends to the Music Midtown 2002 Press Conference at the Tabernacle.  They had the place all setup like some sort of wedding, with big tables and a buffet of food and free beer!  What a rough life.  On top of that good stuff, I got to find out the lineup for Music Midtown.  Looks like some kickass artists are coming.  That will be a fun way to end the semester.
May Contain Lactose - What a bum of a day.  It's all rainy and gooey outside.  On top of that, they shut off the water here at the dorms for "needed emergency repairs".  So needless to say class had to be skipped, and I slept in.  But now I'm awake, the water's back on, and I've had a shower.  So I'm sitting here brainstorming about some life changes I want to make.  I also have a hankerin' to cook.  I think when I get off work tonight I'm going to make a "real" dinner.  Maybe some baked stuffed bell peppers, some dirty rice, and a marinated pork loin roast.  I'm thinking that sounds yum.

Rave:  Baby Anne, Kimball Collins, Micro
- Went over to the Tabernacle after I voiced my airshift at the station to catch the Mirage party.  Always loads of fun, and after hooking up with my friend Chuck, and soon after the rest of the crew, we shook our booty til the early AM.  After the party Chuck and I came back to the dorms and played some serious Halo on X-Box.  We owned of course.

Owch
- Today is recovery day.  I rarely get this hungover, but I out-did myself last night.  Nathan came over and we played Halo on X-Box and watched an assortment of TV shows.  The fun lasted til the early AM.  Man down.  Twas worth it.   Taking the rental car back tonight, and I am really starting to get excited about Miami!

Rave: Vinyl Boy Anniversary w/ DJ Icey; Mobile 99 Broken Into
- Went up to the Globe tonight.  Since good ole Mobile 4 is in the shop having "upgrades" done, I took my rental car.  Icey is always good to see, and lately when I've seen him spin, it's been a really great mix of sick beats.  Plus, the fact that I was getting into the $27 party for free and that my friends would be there were motivating factors.  I had a blast as usual hanging and dancing with my pals, and decided to leave around 4 or 5.  However, someone else decided that my rental car looked like too much of a babe magnet and wanted in.  The driver's side window was busted out and the glove compartment and car had been gone through for goodies.  Of course... there was nothing in there, since it was a freaking rental car!  Mine was one of about 5 in that section of the parking lot that had been broken into.  As it turns out, someone else in the parking lot got held up at gunpoint by the same guys.  So, as I see it, I got off lucky.  Insurance will cover all the damages to the rental car, and I'll just swap it for another rental car tomorrow, but it makes you think.  I said screw it anyhow on the way home, and went by the 24 hour Krystal and got some breakfast.  To hell with negativity.

Read Between The Lines
- This post won't make much sense if you don't write computer code, or don't know what ASP is, but I just had to ramble on.  I have been coding all day in ASP to get various timestamp features for the Z93.com website... It's got me to thinking. (partially because I've been coding all day, and also because it's 3am and I am still coding)... But, it seems to me that computer programming has a big parallel to the way life plays out.  In the sense that we lay it out like we want it, and sometimes it's sloppy.  Other times... it's nicely laid out, but usually either way, we are so sure and confident we know how it will all end up.  And I can say from personal experience, that when it doesn't play out just like I had planned, I am always baffled at where the error could be.  As if, "what??? the almighty me could never make a mistake!"...  I guess, in that sense, it's humbling to get kicked in the ass on occasion.  Essentially it boils down to this.  Sometimes, there are factors in life you just plain miss.  Maybe because you were moving too fast, or maybe even because there was never a way you could have known... But that's just how it is.

That 70's Mess In The ATH
- Massive errand day for ACC.  I ran all over the world and back again running errands and whatnot.  But, I did manage to blow some disposable income of which I do not have.  I picked up a Fender Acoustic Guitar (yay!) which sounds really awesome.  The sound reverberates really well in it.  I got my taxes done, and I also picked up a new digital camera (finally!)  So, I hope to post some new pics all over the place.  After my errand agendas, I headed out to Athens, where the "Party at The Moontower" was being held and Alyssa 'n Jeff's pad.  There was a good few people there and good times were had.  Always great to see the crew.  Alyssa, Jeff, Tony, Kalilah, Brooke, Kerry, Troy, John... and the rest..

Shout Out
- On-Air tonite.  Went smooth.  It was an all request weekend, and due to the nature of my show, I was able to just go down my "Sup's" section and give out dedications to pretty much everyone on there.  So, if you're on my sup's list... you had a shout-out at some point Friday night.  =)

- Went back to the doctor today for a follow-up about the whole foot thing... I've been up-graded, so I don't have to deal with crutches anymore, but I still hafta wear the ankle brace for another week.  I feel so free and liberated.  Ok, so let's go hiking!.

- On-air again tonight at Z93.  I didn't actually listen to my show though because I hung out with the GaTech Brian here at my dorm watching movies and tossing back a couple.

Crutches Make You Venerable To Panhandling - The pain was raining down on my fun parade, so when I finished my Business Law exam today, I took off for the doctor's office.  They X-Rayed the whole foot deal (see Feb 11, 2002 for the whole story), and said that I have a 3rd degree sprain... which the doctor described as being as bad as if I had actually broken it.  He told me I'd need to wear an air splint, and that I'd be on crutches for at least the next week.  I DID get some fabulous drugs however... Hyrodocodine does wonders for the noggin.  This whole crutches thing is great for getting pity, but I'm over it.  I can no longer out run the homeless for panhandling... And well, that's not good.  But, I'll continue to pop my pills and make up wonderful lies about what happened to passerby's who keep asking me what happened, and be thankful for what I got!

What tha? - OK, I admit it.  I'm a geek, and I love living in the new age.  I cherish the fact that I never have to mail a check to pay a bill, and that I use my debit card and AMEX like a mad man.  But, I still cannot for the life of me, understand how or why anyone in this day and age still pays at the grocery store by writing out a check.  I can't believe stores actually still TAKE checks.  I mean, what is it?  It's a note saying, "hey store, ummm, like I don't have any money, but here's a piece of paper... and I wrote on it... so... will you take that instead?"... And anyone who holds up the line long enough to write out a check and go through the 8 pieces of identification verification has balls.  Even the fastest spending women, trained with her quick draw pen skills, cannot write a check as fast as they could have swiped her debit card.  Are these shoppers intimidated by the plastic?  Perhaps a 4 digit PIN is too difficult to remember?  I need to know WHY damnit!

Doh - While heading back to the dorms after work tonite I fucked up my foot making a run for the MARTA train down some stairs. I DID make the train... boo-yah... but only after landing a 3 stair jump on the side of my foot.  I figure this should make my rollerblading challenging, and what's the fun of life without a little challenge!  =0  On a side note, Alyssa and I were talking on the phone tonite and decided that we both needed to be more stupid.  We're going to make an effort to do more spontaneous and not-so-logical activities in an effort to expand our life experiences.  Bring on the stupidity!

Sunday
- Took part in this nice weather and went skating today.  I brought up my guitar amp from the house so I can start playing around on the guitar more.  I MUST learn more than 4 chords and 2 songs!

Rave:  Deepsky
- I got a hair cut today and ran my usual errands, but tonight was something to look forward to.  A chance to celebrate as I headed up to the Tabernacle to see Deepsky among others.  Deepsky preformed live at the very first rave I went to, and I always try to see them when they come into town.  They came and dished it out in large proportions and everyone enjoyed.  Afterwards, my and my lovely friends Amy, Peter, Chuck and many more, headed over to Innovox to chill at the after-party for a bit.  It was fun, but too chill for the group so we all took off.  A great night and good treat.

Z93
- It's been about 6 months since I've been on the air, and it was nice to return tonight.  This week's show went very well.  Thanks for the encouragement and support from all my friends who tuned in this week.

The 311 Goo
- The goo dispenser went on overload today.  My friend, Jason, who used to work with me at Z93 and now works for our sister station, a modern rock format station in West Palm Beach, Florida managed to get me a goodie the last time 311 came through town.  Since he is the afternoon DJ on the station, he was able to get backstage access etc to the 311 show and got me a sweet ass poster (similar to the image on the right), and then...  got the entire band to sign it!!!!... I am wading in a big pile of goo from the hooked-upness I feel.  The love.  The goo!  =)
311 Night - Justin came over tonight and we watched ETSD 2, then learned some of Down on the guitar.  A jam packed 311 night.

Movie Tyme
- The weekend is here!!!... and I went and hung out with my buddy Davey-Dave-David.  We ended up goin to see that Mandy Moore movie, A Walk To Remember.  It was nice and romantic, and a lot like a 2 hour Dawson's Creek special you might see on the WB... David was disappointed in the ending, but I had no real complaints.  We also watched some QAF episodes back at his pad and put in some good hang time.  On a side note, the weather this week has been gorgeous, and now apparently there is the word that snow might be in the forecast next week... How insane!... Only in Atlanta.  God love Atlanta, the city you can count on for true weather drama.

Not The Usual Saturday
- The weather was reasonably nice today, so I took off and went rollerblading and then ran a few errands before meeting up with Alyssa so she could dye my hair.  We enjoyed some 4 hour hair drama as we dyed it all sorts of craziness.  Came out nice I think.  We'll see what the people have to say about it.
Rave: Ravalicious - Went up to the globe tonight and waited in the extremely long line to get in for Skylab200, Sikora, Native Outlander, Purple Haze, and more for tonight's Plur Planet anniversary party.  Bumped into the fun friends, my hunny Amy of course, Chuck, Chris, and so many others... I had a fun time gettin' my booty on till all hours of the 'morn.

DMB?
- I have been on some strange (non-Gorby related) Dave Matthews Band kick all weekend.  Everywhere I go, he's been playing, and I can't get these tunes outta my head.  I'm working on getting his latest album, but I've been too lazy to go and download all the MP3s... God forbid I actually go buy it (gasp!)... If you have the CD, lemmie know and maybe I can grab the ISO from ya!  =)

Athens
- I went to the liquor store tonight and picked up a variety of bev's then bolted it to Athens to meet up with my pals!  I was bartending up some pretty delicious beverage action from recipes I got off the net.  Me, Alyssa, Jeff, Kerry, Aaron, Troy, Tony, the cat, and the rest of the gang all hung out and drank, played PlayStation 2, and went across the street to The Blind Pig for some pinball.  I also got a chance to drop in on my step brother Jonathan.  Very late night fun, and good fun catchin' up with the crew.

Cereal "O" Escapes: No One Injured - Tragedy struck home for one Georgia State University college student when an "O" from a box of Kellogg's Homer's Cinnamon Donut Cereal escaped from an unknown location sometime earlier this week.  “I had assumed the ‘lil du
de was in the bowl when I ate all of his brothers” said Adam Caskey, renter of the property where the small “O”’s stale corpse was discovered earlier today.  “I’m really quite shocked and saddened that I missed out on the chance to eat him!”  Police officials who are investigating the incident have several theories on how the renegade “O” may have escaped consumption.  The official stated that they “have not ruled out some sort of sick, cereal suicide." and went on to say that they have not ruled out foul play.  "We have several principle suspects in mind, including a banana peel that was located near the crime scene shortly before the “O”’s disappearance.”  This is the first of such incidents reported this year following a rash of occurrences during the fall of 2001 where several Frosted Mini-Wheats and some Lucky Charms were found in similar locations.

GSU - Back to school yesterday.  Today was accounting.  The professor that my friend Rob and I have seems to be very cool.  Hopefully this class will turn out better than the last one.  I haven't done many posts lately... Things have been busy, but I shall endeavor to stay on top of this thizang.

Bohh-yah! - I loooove the action.  I picked up an X-Box today courtesy of the "hook-up" at work.  My God I love perks...  Lord knows what I will do with all this gaming power with this and the PlayStation 2...  But I invite the fun.

I Love Things - The old engineering trick worked... I had bought a new cell phone not too long ago, but on the way back from Thanksgiving in Florida, my phone got ker-plunked into a nice glass of coke (about the worst thing you can do to any electronic device).  Well of course it didn't work after it dried, and I thought the thing was a total loss, but I tried the engineers-last-resort trick on it and it worked!... I took the battery and SIM chip out and dunked it into a warm tub of soapy water and then rinsed it and let it dry on top of the computer monitor over night.  Sure enough, the next morning the sucker powered up.  Sometimes, it just works out!

Move Day - I woke up at 8am, and on a SATURDAY no less!  That really is amazing if you know me... But I drove up to Braselton to help my Dad move his stuff into his new house just north of Gainesville.  I'm not supposed to talk about the house, because he wants the brothers to be surprised when they go up and see it eventually, but it's a nice place.

Z93 Xmas Party
- Tonight I took Alyssa to the Z93 Staff Xmas party.  This year we had it up at the Capital Grill in Buckhead.  Took a while to get there as Alyssa and I found a way to get lost... but we finally managed to cruise on in just as everyone was being seated for dinner.  Shwanky place by the way.  I had a good time shmoozing with all the fellow co-workers in a non-work environment, and was certainly enjoying the free wine & food.  The food there kicked ass, and in the meantime we all had a silent auction going on various items to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  I bid on and won the Sony Playstation 2.  Rawk!  After the party, Alyssa and I went and ran some errands then headed to Innovox for our final Innvox Sunday night.  <tear>  A lot of fun packed into tonight.

D-Day
- I had my accounting final exam this morning.  I doubt that I flunked it, but beyond that, it's anyone's guess.  After that mess, I came back here to the dorms and passed out into an all day coma.  I think I finally stumbled out of bed at about 7. I ran some errands in Gwinnett and bought  myself a couple of rings and then went back to the dorms to head over the Lorettas for the rave.
Rave: DJ Dan, Kimball Collins & Nick Warren  - Kimball Collins, DJ Dan, and Nick Warren were all spinning.  I don't know what it is exactly, but I guess I am just not a DJ Dan fan... When I saw him spin last at the big party at the North-Atlanta Trade Center, I wasn't too impressed, and this time, I enjoyed it but wasn't overwhelmed. So I guess I will just make the assumption that he's good but just not my thing.  Nick Warren was awesome, maybe the best of the night, and Kimball Collins was definitely hot.  Perhaps one of the better recent performances I've seen of him.

Game: Georgia vs. Georgia Tech - Well after sleeping off last night, it was time to wake up and cheer on my team to victory... or at least try.  I met up with Todd, Ed, Jeff, and the rest of the crew at the designated "tailgating" spot near the Wellness Center on campus.  We hung out and had bev's and snacks... Typical tailgating type stuffs.  Game time rolled around eventually and I had the task of trying to find a ticket.  Things were looking pretty grim, but just when hope was dimming, we ran into Adam, this guy I know through Ian, and Todd knows through his work.  He somehow had a few extra tickets and we managed to score one.  Once inside I met up with the crew and we tried our best to cheer on the Jackets.  We did manage to get ourselves on TV (video clip available for download soon), but our team wasn't playing all that well... and soon, it was evident that it was not to be.  =(  Oh well... We've won the last 3 years, I guess they deserve at least one win. ;-)

Rave: Tiesto @ NV
- There's no better way to celebrate being back in the ATL than to get sauced and go ravin', so that's just what I did.  I rolled into Atlanta just before 11pm tonight, and after catching my breath and checking email for the first time in days, I threw back some bev's and walked down the street to club NV to catch Tiesto who was spinning there.  There was a pretty good crowd there and there was definitely a vibe.  I ended up running into several friends including Amy, Peter, and even the jaded fool Nolo!  A good time was had by all, and even though I was rather exhausted, I found my groove and hung out there til just after 4.  Great tunes.

Florida Trip #5
- Time to head back to Florida... this time for Grandmamma's house for Thanksgiving.  I'm heading to middle-of-nowhere "Dowling Park, Florida".  Somehow... I have this feeling that the hotel we're staying at (called the "Lodge" by the locals), won't have a T1 CAT5 internet connection in every hotel room like the Doral Golf Resort & Spa did in Miami... It's just a hunch though...

Time to Explore
-
Today was my day to explore. After grabbing a bite to eat, I decided that I was just going to grab my map and get in the car and drive.... And so I did. I ended up heading downtown into Miami. I roamed around and went by Bayfront Park, (home of the Ultra3 music festival that I attended back in March.) It looked like something was going on down there, so I found a parking spot and went and checked it out. Sure enough, there was a Puerto Rican festival of some sort going on with dancing and singing, and various booths... I walked around and soaked up some culture, and then walked to the bayfront for some atmosphere. The waterfront is really nice down there. There's a good breeze off the bay, and the city lights just add that extra something. There was a cruise ship leaving port too just as I got there. That was cool to see. (I'm easily amused.) After doing that for a while, I headed back to the car and decided to scope out South Beach, so that I could figure out what to do later that night. I eventually found a place to park on 13th, and got out and walked around a bit. It's a great city, and I got a great chance to actually go ON the beach. That was nice. Afterwards I hit up this cool little pizza place and had this wild tasting pizza. It had leaves on it. =) But I like to live a little, so it all works. I took off back for the car so I could head back to the hotel and chill and get dressed up for the night. Just as I got to the car, my meter ran out and it started to rain a bit, so my timing worked out pretty well, heh. After getting ready back at the hotel, I went back to SoBe, and walked around for a good while. I eventually settled on Crobar and spent a good while there before getting pretty tired. On the way back to the car I hit up a hole in the wall pizza place. SoBe is dotted with these little places, most open 24-7. Good food. That winded down my evening, but I'm satisfied that I squeezed in a damn good amount of stuff.

South Beach
- The group of us from the station who came down, left the hotel at around 10 and headed to South Beach to meet up with our media rep who would be taking us on a tour of various South Beach clubs.  We met up with her at this posh restaurant/night club called BED.  Just as the name suggests, the whole club is surrounded with booth like areas with large mattresses.  The elite and rich evidentially come here, and relax on these mattresses and enjoy very expensive bottles of champagne.  This club doesn't have a sign outside, and you pretty much can't get in unless you "know" someone.  Apparently, a lot of SoBe works this way.  It was very trendy, and there was a DJ spinning some atmosphere trance.  After we finished off our first complimentary drink of the night and met the owner, we loaded up and moved on to our next night spot, "Level".  This was one of the bigger clubs we ventured to tonight.  There was a sizable crowd trying to get in the door out front.  Apparently they had a Supermodel of the Year contest that night, and there was a big draw.  Once again, the velvet ropes were unhooked and we were waived on in with no hassle and again directed to another VIP area where we sipped free champagne.  I went one step further and bought a couple more drinks with the $20 I found on the sidewalk as we were going in, and then I started to get the buzz.  Once that kicked in, I was ready for some dancin'.  The music was very happening, and as it turned out, George Acosta was one of the DJ's spinning that night.  What an awesome surprise.  I got my groove on for a bit then we re-grouped and moved on to our third club, "Liquid". Here, the music was also good, and the crowd was attractive and all about dancing and socializing.  This club was a bit more intimate than Level, but by no means small.  We were whisked in and straight upstairs into the VIP area, and sipped down another free drink and overlooked the dance floor.  I definitely feeling a slight buzz by this time, so I went downstairs and got some more moves on.  I was looking forward to our last club of the evening, and soon, we were off to that... We hit up club "Opium".  This was where Kaedy's friend Hardy (from the TV show Big Brother 2), worked, and when we got there, this club was definitely happening.  We again got the royal treatment, and were all impressed by the decor of this place.  It had this Asian theme, and the club centered around this open air courtyard with lush greenery and Palm trees and Asian paper mache lamps.  It was quite crowded, perhaps the most crowded club we saw that night.  The music was definitely a mix of good techno, and we took the tour and sipped another free bev.  A nice little pad.  After about 2:30, it was time for the group to head home, and with the 3 hours of sleep I got Friday night, and all that I got to see tonight, I didn't feel cheated by going home earlier than I usually would.  An awesome night!

Miami - Leaving Atlanta this morning for a trip to Miami... Sweeeeet.
(an After Note: I got to go on this Miami Trip after I was able to snag a spot on the trip the radio station was doing.  We had done a promotion with the Miami Convention and Visitors Center, and given away several trips to listeners on the air, and accompanied them to Miami.  I had so much fun back in March when I went, I definitely wanted to return.)

Rave: Wonderland 3 - It's been a while since I've been to a decent sized party so I went up to the Masquerade tonight for Wonderland 3.  Bad Boy Bill, Rick West, and more were there... Good size turnout, but thankfully not TOO many people... I bumped into Amy and Peter down there as well as a few other friends.  After about 3:30, I took off back to the dorms, for a brief break, and then went down to the Globe to catch a reprise with Rick West.  It was only $3 to get in, so I was up for it.  I got there and ran into John who was there working, and my friend Chris who was gettin his groove on.  After waiting what seemed like forever, Rick West finally came on at like 5:30 and I was enjoyin the tunes.  He always seems to have so much fun when he spins, and that energy can't help but trickle to the audience.  I was gettin dog tired by 7am, and since the sun was coming up, I took that as my cue to jet outta there.  Lots of fun tonight though.

Thursday, November 8, 2001
Thursday - Oi... what a long day.  I had to skip all my classes, (including a quiz), because we had this big ass staff meeting at work, and they needed me to coordinate the various department's presentations and other details.  It's about 7p now, and I'm tired.  I stayed up late last nite just laying in bed.  You know... that sort of zoned out annoying sleepless nights that bug the piss out of you?

Saturday
- Exam today.  I went by after and checked out Chauff's new pool hall.  He said it should open this week, so that'll be cool.  I also went to the mall and got some shoppin' done... Shoes and what not.   As for Saturday night... well... I'll just say it was a disappointment, and leave it at that.

Gud Chtrades- What better way to spend a Friday night, (a night before my Saturday noon accounting exam), than to shirk my responsibilities and hang out with pals.  I took off after work, (and a lil Taco Bell mind you), and met up with Jeff and Kerry over at Kerry's apartment.  I had never been there, so it was a cool opportunity to go check out her pad... Nice digs... Poor Drew was still hurtin' from the appendix removal sit-chu-a-shon... but we managed to wrestle up some fun.  We played some PS2 and had some beers and played guitar.... Bout 1 or 2 we ordered a pizza, which I was sure was a good idea at the time.  I eventually got home by 4ish.... Amount of studying done = 5 minutes.

Mozart Rocks!
- I choose not to sleep in today like I normally would, and instead got up and trekked down to the Rialto Theater downtown (Georgia State University's Performing Arts Theater), and went and saw the Mozart Requiem preformed by The Georgia State Symphony and GSU Singers with a church choir as guests.  It was actually really cool.  For some strange reason, I actually really was in the mood for some symphony and it was odd when my friend Brian, who plays bass in the GSU symphony invited me to come down for their concert.  I was glad I went.  It hit the spot.  After I enjoyed my culture for the day, I rode MARTA back and popped into the Varsity for a Chili-Cheese Burger and a Frosted Orange for the first time of the semester which was nice.  I took off shortly afterwards and headed out to Gwinnett where I ran some errands, went to the park, and stopped by the house.  After returning to the dorms, I got bored and headed to Innovox to get some studying done.  Sometimes it's just nice to get away from the computers and the TV and the distractions at the dorm.  At Innovox, there certainly are a number of distractions, but if you choose to, you can plop on some headphones and zone out and find your own little world.  It's mighty nice.  Today was a good day overall.  A definite change of pace, and a good opportunity to get some needed thinking and self-evaluation done.  Hopefully these answers will present themselves soon.

Go Jackets!
- After last night's sad loss during the Braves game, I was gearing up my hopes for today's homecoming Tech game.  Todd (Goat) called me up and invited me to use the extra Tech game ticket that he had, so I quickly suited up and met him over at the stadium across the street.  They had sideline seats, and we all helped cheer Tech to victory.  Afterwards, I met Todd and his friends for some post-game tailgating at the car.  We enjoyed a few bev's and had some good fun.  After, Todd dropped me off at the dorms, and I took of for Gwinnett.  I hit up Taco Bell then hooked up with some friends and hung at the Lawrenceville house for a little while.  After they took off I headed back to Atlanta and checked in on Frankie Bones who was spinning some nastiness up at the Masquerade for the Outerlimits party.  I didn't hang out there too long since it was gettin' around 5am.  I drove across the street to Innovox and saw my friend Matt for a little bit, and met the friends who he was hanging out with.  After some VERY strange conversations, I came back here to the dorm to try and get some sleep.

Baseball Beer
- Long week, and a very busy day today at work... But I managed to score some free Braves tickets for the NLCS playoff game tonight so I invited Brian and we headed down after some goofing off at the dorms.  We got there and grabbed a beer and pizza and hung out in the picnic area behind the outfield.  We chilled out, watched the game and chit chatted.  Sadly the Braves lost, and we took off at the game end.  The weather was great tonite.  It was mild and starting to get just a tad cold at the games end.  Brian and I went back to my dorm and played around with our various geek toys and watched some of the footage from his roadtrip that he took over fall break.  Poor Brian was getting tired since he hadn't had any sleep all day, so after the video was over, I took him back to his dorm at Tech.  On the way back to the GSU dorms, I had to wind my way through the Fraternity row on Tech campus and I saw all of the fraternities out at like 3:30am setting up their homecoming floats.  They had had little BBQ's going and seemed to be havin' a good ole time heh... It was a fun Friday.

Athens Bound
- After sleeping late, I got up and ran some errands, then headed in to work to do some Saturday work on my Program Director's computer.  It was all messed up, and I wanted to try and get some of the shit straightened out by Monday.  After working on that for a while, I decided to head to Athens to hang with my friend Jeff and Sam.  I departed rather late, but even though I was tired, the long drive was somewhat therapeutic.  Once I got to Athens, I discovered after a bit of waiting, that my friend Jeff, (after a day of drinking) had passed out.  So, I headed in to downtown Athens to try and find Sambo.  I hooked up with her, and we took the walking tour around downtown Athens and the UGA campus and caught up on old times.  The weather was rather perfect, and I was glad for the change of scenery, the change of pace, and the chance to catch up with an old friend.  We headed back to her pad and hung out til the early AM when I took off back to Lawrenceville.  I definitely didn't know where the day would end when it started, but it all worked out really well, and a good time was had.

Rave:
Mirage - Deepsky, Kimball Collins, Baby Anne, George Acosta -
Well tonight we went up for some big time fun. Mirage threw a party up at the Tabernacle. After scoring free tickets for me and my friends, I finished up my work at the radio station, grabbed a bite to eat and made a stop at the local liquor store, and bolted back to the dorm to get ready. The Tabernacle is almost within walking distance from the dorms, but we decided it would be best to drive. We drove down and did some pre party beving in the car, and got geared up for the action. Once inside we began to soak up the tunes. The action was happening, and I was feelin great! Kimball Collins was on the decks at this point, and was delivering a great set. I bumped into my friends, and my friend Matt showed up to the party as well, and the fun was really coming together. There was a definite good vibe going around, and I was doing my best to soak up as much of it as possible. After downing a couple beers, and psyching myself up... Deepsky came on. Their live performance blew the place up. I had the pleasure of seeing these guys at my very first rave way back when.... and I always try to see them perform when I get the chance. They didn't disappoint, and I was loving it. They did about an hour set then George Acosta came on. He was awesome of course, and was the absolute perfect way to end the evening. We danced our asses off, and stayed until the very end. What an awesome night, and awesome week for that matter of great tunes.

Rave: Paul Van Dyk
-
A very special treat tonight. Mister Paul Van Dyk. This guy is just super talented, and to get to see him live is a real treat. The last time I had the pleasure of seeing him spin was in my dream road trip earlier this year to Ultra3 (the Winter Music Festival) in Miami. He spun for just over 3 hours and really just delivered an awesome mind-blowing choice of tunes. It was not typical to have such a large DJ perform on a Thursday night, but for whatever reason, that was the situation, and luckily I was able to have the circumstances that allowed me to go. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. It was long as hell with class this morning, then work, but... I was able to get this computer project I've been working on for the longest time to finally start doing what I wanted, and that was a real treat. I had a blast. On a side note... at the party, I saw these 3 middle-eastern guys... They were in their 20's and fully dressed in the headdress, and beards. They appeared to be totally out of place. Had I not gotten the close look, I would have thought someone had just gotten dressed up, but they were for real. I wondered if the PLUR-like attitude would escape some of the ravers, and that some of these people might give them a hard time, but I didn't see that happen. These guys were there to have a good time, and as I saw one of them liquid dance, I couldn't help but smile and laugh a bit to myself... But I thought, hey, more power to these guys for having the balls to come out and have a good time.

Hmm
- An interesting day... I finally finished editing the commercial... and after a long day at school, I was beat.  I had the usual mixture of work activities going on, and various drama with friends.  I decided for a change of pace after work... I suck off and after dropping off my car payment at the bank, I did the Taco Bell drive-thru and went up to my favorite little park for an impromptu picnic under the full moon.  The weather was great, and with the skaters at the skate park in the nearby corner of the park, it was all too nice.  Afterwards, I went up to Innovox to relax and played on my laptop, sipping on my tall latte surrounded by attractive peoples.  Can't go wrong with that.  A nice way to find myself after a semi-insane day.

ACC Colas... Wouldn't You Like One Now?
- There's nothing like technology mixed with a good alcohol induced buzz... My friends and I filmed a new ACC Colas commercial for lack of anything better to do.  I plan to edit it on my laptop over the next few days.  Drop me a line in a few days, and I'll show you the finished insanity.

Rave: Sandra Collins, AK1200...
- Liquified Nation 3 was on the agenda tonight.  I went up to the Masquerade after work, and after some traditional pre-party beving in the car, I made my way inside.  I was happy with the turnout, but saddened to not see Kazell on who was scheduled to be on when I arrived.  I never did find out what happened with that, but apparently he did not show for whatever reason.  But, there was more than enough to enjoy there that night.  Sandra Collins did a great mix of good stuffs, and Taylor did as well.  AK1200 was off the chain with his usual brand of nastiness.  The jungle room upstairs was quite crowded for most of the night despite being quite hot.  I did spend most of my time downstairs since I've somewhat had my fill of jungle lately.  I love it, but the last few parties have been "jungleized", and I wanted a change of pace.  I did see several pal's and was able to put some quality hang time in.  Good fun.

New Haircut Makes My Head Think More
- I got a haircut today, and new highlights put in.  As the school week winds down, I can finally put my feet up and relax after a long week.  Econ exam today, and I got back my wondrous C+ paper in Geog.  But, I was able to get my financial aid done, and get a work out in tonight.  So it's been a fairly productive day.  In fact, I'm doing my laundry right now.  But, for some reason, my mind has been in overdrive tonight.  I've been going over all these things going on in my life currently.  I took a trip up to Innovox earlier, and found myself a comfy couch to sit on and sip my cafe latte, and type some thoughts into my laptop.  It was helpful and therapeutic to work through some of these things that way.  There are several options on the slate for possible activities this weekend, and I'm not sure quite how this weekend will unfold.  It will certainly be interesting to see what happens.

311: Not Quite Coffee Driving Music... But Damn Good
- Well today was the last day for busy-ness for the week... kind of convenient seeing as how the weeks over now, but anyhow... After only getting like 3 or 4 hours sleep, I got up and made my way up to the GSU Alpharetta Campus to take my Accounting exam.  It is certainly no A, but I think I did better than I had originally expected.  After that was said and done, I took off for Lawrenceville where I crash-napped for a few hours before the Saturday night activities kicked off.  I somehow woke up from that mess and ran a few errands around town then kicked it back to the dorms in time to get ready to go out for the night.
I went and picked up Brian (the Ga Tech Brian) shortly afterward, and we made our way down to HiFi Buys Amphitheatre.   We got there right in time to enjoy a brief bev in the VIP lounge, and make our way to the box seats for the big 311 action.  Now, just on a side-note... and I won't go into the big boring stories, but I can say that without a doubt, the security (at least that night) that were working, were complete assholes.  The people in the front offices at Lakewood have always been very cool, but what ever part-timers they had there last night working security should be quickly escorted out of the building.... Anyhow, on to the good stuff... 311 came out and rocked hard in classic style.  The last performance I had seen was also at Lakewood earlier this summer for the Warped Tour, but this was far better.  Even though it was only an hour and a half or so long, it was more like a "real" 311 show.  They played all the favorites, and some of the new album as well.  It was a well deserved treat after a long and insane week.  After the show ended, Brian and I headed to Dunwoody to have coffee and Intermezzo off of Ashford Dunwoody since I had never been.  Along the way, I stopped by the radio station and gave him the dime tour.  Brian and I sat outside with the weather being nice, and engaged in some lengthy and enjoyable "cawffee tawk".  I drove him back to his dorm and dropped him off for the night, and came back to my dorm for a brief respite.  I knew that Jeff was still spinning up at the Globe.  I promised him I'd drop by if I got back enough in the morning, so I went down since he had put my name on the guest list.  There was really nobody there, but it was still nice to hear some tunes and be in that environment with friends.  I didn't stay too long as tiredness was creeping up on me by this time, so I said my goodbyes and returned to the dorms.  A great day, full of action packed-ness, and quality-time with quality-people.  I think I'm a lucky guy sometimes.

Rave: Micro - This week has been insane (in the membrane).  Quizzes, papers, and work insanity... And the weekend has bigger plans in the works.  I have an exam in Accounting tomorrow at noon, but tonite, it was time to let of some steam by catching DJ Micro at the Masquerade.  I was lookin forward to seeing Micro, since I missed him the last time he was here because I was in St. Augustine.  After work, and a 2 hour accounting study session, I went up to the Masquerade, and did my usual pre-party bev'ing in the car.  The crowd was about what I had expected.  Not too crowded, but definitely enough people to have a good time.  Doc Roc was on when I got in the door, and he was rockin!  I never have seen him (that I can recall), but he was throwin it out.  Throwin the cross fader with special effects, and all sorts of tricks.  I was impressed.  Micro came on and threw his set down.  I enjoyed his usual blend of tunes.  I had to take off about 4:30 when Micro finished.  When I got back to the dorm, I did about another hour of studyin, and now it's time to hit the sack... so later!

Tragedy - I cannot begin to express what I feel about the tragedy of yesterday.  The worst act of terrorism I've ever known, and certainly the worst in American history.  It is surreal... it does seem so unreal that it appears to be a movie... complete with explosive special effects.   I cannot yet wrap my mind around the loss.  The loss of property, the loss of human life.  It is unimaginable.

My heart and thoughts are on the events of today.

Jeff's Pad, Athens, and Kazell - Wow... what a friggin night! I went up to Athens tonight to hang at Jeff's pad with him and the crew... (Ian, Nolan, Kerry, Jeff, Tone-loc, Mike, Troy... and several more)... We watched UGA get beat and downed some bev's, then we headed out on foot trudging across campus and through the game-day crowds to ATM (the Athens Music Factory) located in downtown Athens. DJ Kazell was set to spin there along with others, so we were hyped for some pin-ball, bev's and some tunes. And we got just that. I guess most of the crew were gettin tired from drinking all day and they all headed back around 1, but I hung around til it wound down at 2am... They announced an after party that would be held at some local condominium complex's clubhouse. Not being from the area, I was a bit skeptical about being able to find it, but after getting motivated from the friends I bumped into there (Jay, Peter, Peter's friend, Amy, and Scott) I decided to give it a whirl. I picked up my car, which was precariously parked semi-legally, and drove back to Jeff's where I said my good-byes to the remaining awake crew who were sitting around in the dark watching TV for the most part. I got my bag and some crude directions, and headed off... After some "creative" driving, I arrived and what could only be the after party... I paid the $2 cover, and was handed my ticket for the night: a beer cup. I filled her up and jammed out to Nasir who was on the decks. I recognized several people from the party and was feeling right at home, even more so when I saw my friends arrive. We were having a blast, and got our groove on til 6am... After 3 hours on the decks, Nasir was spontaneously relieved by a encore performance from none other than Kazell himself. This was a rather small party... maybe 50-100 people, and it was a small space. It totally had the feeling like you were having these guys over at your house... and we got hyped.... After about 30 minutes, the fine Athens Police arrived and shut down the event. It was about 6:30am, and we all said our goodbyes and made the long drive home... But ending for us, and closing out, a great night.
Saturday, September 1, 2001 - My Birthday
Birthday Boi - I rang my birthday in with style... by waking up late, and doing nothing! =)  Actually, after waking up and being a bum around the dorms for a bit, I headed out back to Gwinnett, and ran errands and eventually met up with Alyssa at the Lawrenceville headquarters.  We left from there to Athens to go to our good ole GSU pal - Jeff Peterson's new apartment, for an evening of party happenings.  Alyssa and I cruised down 316 listening to a highly cheesable, but somehow enjoyable, A*Teens CD.  We got to Jeff's and began to throw back some bev's and chill to some tunes.  Jeff and his bro had a good few friends over, and things were pretty hyped.  I got up on Jeff's tables, and spun the limited collection I had brought, then delved into Jeff's Electro and Techno collection.  After a while, we ventured to the Blind Pig... a bar that is right across the street from Jeff's complex.  We drank a few more bev's and played some serious pin-ball action.  It was a great birthday.  And Thanks to all who called, emailed, and otherwise got in touch with me to wish me a happy birthday!  I really have a great group of friends and family.
=D

8-Ball - I fixed and upgraded my 8 Ball... Check it out and let me know what you think.
Sunday, August 26, 2001Welcome! You've found Innovox Lounge, Atlanta's Largest and Hippest Coffeehouse and Cybercafe
Innovox Sunday - Why not?  Alyssa and I cruised on up to Innovox again... Is this turnin out to be a weekly tradition?  why not...  She and I caught up on the various dates and going's-on's in our lives, and sipped on our over priced coffee.  We also took some time out up there to play a game of Battleship.. (I sunk her Battleship!)... I also got a chance to meet David's friend Brian who also goes to GSU.  He was up there doing some studying and stopped by our couch to say "hi".  Hangin' out up there was a nice way to wind the weekend down.

Saturday - Me runnin' security?  This sounds odd... but it happened today out at Stone Mountain at the radio station's Z93 BBQ thing... I was workin the gate and guarding the band Ambrosia and Christopher Cross after the show while they signed autographs... Not a bad time out there, and it was fun hangin' with Kara and the crew.  I was tired after that was all said and done though, and by the time I got home at 9p, I stole a little nap.  I had originally planned on going up to the Globe to see Jeff and John spin, but I was gettin too tired, and didn't really feel motivated to spend the cash to go up and sit there and be tired.  Instead... I decided to go meet a friend of mine, David.  I met him up at IHOP where he was eatin' some grub with some work pals.  We went back to his pad with his roommate Joey, and watched assorted music videos and the movie Hackers.  Interesting movie by the way, and I loved the dated computer and cultural references.  We had a good time though, and sat around complaining about relationships and bitching about things we did and didn't like.  Eventually, I was gettin way tired, so I took off outta there and headed back to the Lawrenceville headquarters to crash.  A cool day & night though.  I like tryin' new things that aren't the usual routine.

Friday - Went to work, and ran some errands... nothin particularly special, but I *did* go out with a friend of mine, Brian.  We went up and caught some coffee at Innovox and then went out for some quality bowling action.  It was good fun, and a refreshing reminder after having not been to the old bowling alley me and the rest of the Z93 "Cool Club" used to haunt.  Brian and I had a good time though, and bowled a few games... and strangely my bowling score improved as the night went on and the more Corona I had... I call it the "Corona Curve".  I dropped Brian off and went back and did some much needed laundry at the dorms.  It was good fun.  =)

Rave: Phunckateck Attack @ the Globe - Vinyl Boy threw a good lil party tonite and I had a blast.  Me, Ty (who just recently returned from his journeys from the land that time forgot, i.e. Virginia), and Nolan all headed up to the Globe for some tunes and to see our friends Jeff and John spin (Invisible & DJ After).  The turnout was a bit better than I had expected, being the night after Dieselboy, and being a mostly a jungle party... But we were wasted and havin' a good ole time.  Jeff's bros Ed, and Mike were in attendance, and overall it was a great time to hang with some pals and kick back to some tunes.
Friday, August 17, 2001
Rave: Dieselboy @ Lorettas - Good turnout for Dieselboy and Simply Jeff as they put out the tunes up at Club NV (Lorettas).  I was canned, thanks to just moving back in to the dorms right around the corner.  I was a bit on jungle overload, but I had a great time.

Nerds nerdy?  No - What is it about this crazy candy that we love so?  Why do it's delicious flavors combine to make a crazy mouth party?  Will we ever have the answers?  It's not likely... for the people at Nestle, makers of this candy concoction, endeavor to make sure we never discover the "true" secrets behind the candy insanity.  Certainly it must be more than sugar, dextrose, and about 25 FDA approved varieties of food coloring... well yes, there are about 10 more ingredients i skipped... but that's not the point... Wait, what "is" the point?  I can't seem to recall now.  Maybe some Nerds will help me remember.

Rave: Abduction @ Globe - I hadn't initially intended on going tonite, but things worked out and fate sent my throwing on my UFO's and gearing up at
midnight so that I could get down to the Globe in time to see Starboy.  I had seen him spin at the Globe back in July, and ever since he had hooked me up with one of his demo CD's, I've had it playing on continuous in some form of fashion.  I was hyped, and there was a damn good crowd in attendance.  Sadly, that also meant that there was a line... the longest I've ever seen at the Globe in fact.  But, within a reasonable amount of time, I was in and gettin' on my groove.  It was hot as hell in there, but the vibe was great, and the people that were up front dancing around where I was were all about it and having a great time.  It went on like that till Starboy went off, when I grabbed myself a free BT 12" vinyl, and a CD single off Crystal Method's new album.  Sweet!  It was a good time, and yet again, a different set of peeps in attendance.  I did bump into several friends though (Chris, John...) ...and met some new ones to boot.  =)   (pics by tonalgroove)

Rave: Playhouse ReOpening @ Globe - Well it finally re-opened.  The Playhouse is back, and this time, it's at the Globe.  After some renovations and improvements to the venue, they opened the doors to a pretty hyped crowd.  The capacity was about par for a "typical" non-huge-headlining event at the Globe, but a bit less than I had anticipated.  Nevertheless, everyone who was there seemed to be in good spirits.  This wasn't the typical Globe crowd, in fact, there were many of the Market/Masquerade Vinyl Boy crowd members in attendance.  I bumped into several friends, including Peter, and Jay.  It was cool to see them once again and catch up on the latest. I was able to catch (and later get signed) what has turned out to be an AWESOME promo continuous mix CD from DJ Paul Santana!  Mad props  :o) ...  I also enjoyed my friend John (DJ After), as he spun his Goa/Techno.  The new and improved venue has a lot of added features, and I'm excited to see how the changes hold up and what else might be in store.  It was a good time though, and the free parking always rocks.  Re-entry was $2, instead of the typical free or $1 charge that Globe events normally have, but having been used to NO re-entry at past Vinyl Boy events, the $2 was very welcomed.  I had a great time, and it was awesome to find my groove after being out of town and what-not the past few weekends!

Day 6 - I'm getting ready to pull out from the condo here in St. Augustine.  I haven't really posted many updates because things have been so hectic down here... But, things are well, and I've snapped a few good pics and what not.  I'll updated when I return.  My flight leaves around 6, so I will spend a little time down in Old Town before I head to the airport.  That should be fun.  See ya soon.

Day 2 - Things have been insanely busy... It's amazing how busy a person can be on "vacation".  Mostly the last day or so have been sleeping late, and then waking up and hitting the beach for a bit... then grabbin dinner out, comin back to the condo, and cruising the beach... then veggin' out and roamin around the condo and beach.  It's been great fun.  I've met some new peoples, and today I got a chance to head up to my ole fav cheap lil dinner place... it's the Taco Bell of seafood... sorta.  But I went up there tonite for dinner and got the crab & shrimp combo... What a deal.  Tomorrow should be more fun action... there are a few things on the agenda, but for the most part we're just winging' it.  We'll see what unfolds....
Sunday, July 29, 2001 - 12:21 am
Day 1 - Well Todd finally arrived around 7, and after hanging out for a bit, we went and grabbed dinner at Cowboys, and then went and got groceries up at the Publix... Now... we're chillin out... We had talked about possibly goin out to the Oasis and check out the action there... but who knows for sure... I still want to actually walk on the beach and touch some sand... That sorta makes being at the beach official, heh.
Saturday, July 28, 2001 - 10:22 am
Yawn - Me so tired.  Red Bull is the official drink of the day...  I just about to walk out the door here in a few minutes to head to the airport to catch my plane ride to St. Augustine.  It should be no big thang, but we shall soon see.  =)

Preparations for Departure - The countdown has begun, and the engines are being warmed up!... I'm headin' out tomorrow for yet another trip to Florida... This time, to our historic annual destination of St. Augustine.  The crew has changed a bunch since we originally scheduled this trip, and even has the potential to change even more as time goes on.  Mom & Steve are out, and cannot go, but Jeff, and Ed Peterson just might be coming down for some of the trip.  That with the regularly scheduled crew should make this trip a very unique trip from past vacations.  Be sure to check back for more updates from on the road (via ACC laptop technology).

Warped Tour: 311
- Wow!  What a day... It was busy as hell because I had to work for most of the day, but I planned my agenda and got down to HiFi Buys Amphitheatre in time to meet up with Jeff, Alyssa, and Tony who were already down there.  I had gotten everyone in free with more "hook-up" action, so we were all set for serious fun.  After getting a bev, I pounded it, and made my way to the stage that 311 would play on.  Rancid played before them on the adjacent stage while 311 setup on their stage.  It was awful crowded, but the vibe was great.  Tons of 311 tour and various other shirts could be seen throughout the Amphitheatre.  I bumped into my friend Chris down there.  He was down supportin' 311 with his crew, and I hadn't seen him in a good while, so we had a great chance to catch up on times while Rancid finished their set.  311 came out and rocked hard right out of the gate with "Beautiful Disaster"... I was RIGHT up front only a few people deep from the stage and that crowd was insane... It was so crowded it was hard to even breath at times... and you had to fight to stay on your feet from the sways of the crowd back and forth, and for some reason the most overweight people decided that crowd surfing was something they'd like to try that day... but after about the first 10 minutes the idiots chilled out and the losers left the front and 311 went on to play the crowd favorites like "Who's Got The Herb", "Down", "Visit", "All Mixed Up", and even their latest radio single from the new album, "You Wouldn't Believe".  It was only a 30 minute set, but it was well worth the effort involved in catching the show.  Nick Hexum of 311, announced that the band would be back probably in September to do a full show... So... I have an idea what I'll be doing in September! :o)

311 ALERT !!!

Movie & Rave: Free Party @ the Globe
- Had some fun tonite... Started out just hangin with a good friend and watchin "Family Man"... that movie with Nicholas Cage that recently came out on video... Man... that's the kind of movie that makes you want to be all mushy in love... (awww)  After the flick ended, my friend left and I hooked up with another friend of mine, Kenny, who I haven't seen in forever.  Kenny and I went down to the Globe and checked out their free party they were having that night.  A damn good crowd turned out for it, and we hung out and took in the tunes for a while.  After talking with his roommates who were providing the equipment for the outdoor area setup, we took off since the sun was starting to come up... closing out for me... a great weekend of tunes.

Rave: Baby Anne, Icey, AK1200
- Awesome!  What a blast to see 3 of my fav's in what I think is the best venue in town for parties.  AND I got me and my friend in FREE.  That's the quality hookup for ya!  I got there tonite shortly after Baby Anne went on.  My friend and I were able to skip right past the will-call and ticket line and head straight in (hookup action!)... After some car pre-party beving, I was in for some tunes... There was a moderate crowd down for Baby Anne's tunes.  I overheard MANY comments from both guys AND girls about how they'd like to marry Baby Anne (or worse)... who can blame them though, ya know?  Baby Anne delivered the tunes and the crowd was eatin it up.  After Baby Anne, came DJ Icey who came on and spun his very usual bag-o-trix.... Tunes like "This Is How My Drummer Drums" echoed through the Tabby... This was a MUCH different show than Icey put out on his last trip in town at Lorettas... but you know, I liked tonite way better... I like Icey for who he was when I started listening to his tunes and seeing him at smaller crowded shows at the Masquerade.  After Icey came lame trance for an hour or so from Jerry Bonham... bleh... had I been rolling balls in one of the seats high in the balcony, those tunes might have been my savoir... but... I wasn't, heh, so I was ready for AK's magic... AK came on and sent out the nastiness, and the crowd ate it up... There was no denying that everyone had stayed for some AK.  He brought fourth his own branded Jungle D&B that has given him acclaim and criticism.  Surprisingly though... no "Drowning"... A stunned crowd left without hearing the classic after Icey admitted, he hadn't brought it along.  But, I was satisfied... Icey spun one, then another vinyl after almost being threatened to be cut off.  But he didnt care... He simply pointed at the crowd and shrugged his shoulders saying,... it's what they want.   An awesome night.  Even aside the mild trancey hump in the middle of the night, and the crappy needles that seemed to skip on each DJ that spun at least 3 times... it was still an awesome night!

Jam Session
- I went over to Danny's new house tonite down in College Park.  He's got a house down there that he shares with one other dude, but he was outta town so we invited over another friend and all went upstairs to the attic music room, had some drinks and did some jamming.  We all took turns on bass, and electric guitar, and drums.  Now... maybe it was the Crown Royal (very possible), but we were actually puttin' out some really kick ass tunes for a group of people who don't know shit about playing... but again, it was probably the kick ass buzz we had going.  Rawk on!

Pool Party
- I ran some errands today, and picked up the pics from Area1... And later this afternoon, I went over to Jeff's house to hang and enjoy some pool party action.  The gang hung out and did some swimming, chilling, spinning, and more chilling. We had the tables setup outside right by the pool, and for the afternoon it was spinning and swimming.  We all took turns on the tables, and a good time was had.  Niiice.

Rave: @ Globe
- I headed up to the Globe tonight for some techno action.  The likes of Analog Pussy, and more...  There was a pretty good turn out for the party, and after my preparty bev break in of Mobile 4, I went in and begun my enjoyment.  Starboy was on, and the tunes were happenin'.  I was diggin' the selection and was right up at the stage sendin my props to the DJ.  After Starboy went off, and Analog Pussy came on stage, I got sought out by Starboy himself to get a bit of thanks from him for the love while he was on, and then he gave me a CD.   TIGHT... Mad props to Starboy... A great set, and a kick ass guy!  Analog Pussy came on to the cheers of a crowd and the two of them were doing their thing on the live PA... I was standing right in front of the Pussy of Analog Pussy and was psyched from the show and showin my love.... About 30 minutes into the set, she actually grabs the keyboard shes playin off of the stand and comes around, bends down and sets it right in front of me and makes me play!!!!... Haha... Unreal... So for like 2 minutes I'm playing in the Analog Pussy set, and shes workin the knobs and warping the keyboard sound, and I'm pressin the keys in rhythm to the song... It was SUPPA HELLA PHAT.... heh, what a treat... I was bustin'.... After they went off, a lot of the crowd took off, but for those who stayed, they got a chance to see Madam Buddafly... She put on a great set, and at the end she threw out goodies... tapes and vinyl... and of course, I caught a free vinyl, and she signed it for me after she went off... Wow... Did I get the hookup tonight or what?... Heh... Big time coolness, and I spent the ride home, in my new car :o), listening to Starboy's CD.  An awesome end to a kick-ass night!

Mobile 4
- The long process has finally ended.  I haven't really gone into the long drudgery of the process on here because there wasn't a need until the deal was done... but now it is, so I can talk about it.  On Tuesday, I purchased my new car, a 1997 Honda Prelude S.  It's a nice ride with a silver exterior, and a 190 horsepower DOHC VTEC engine.  It rides smooth and has a great feel and a lot of power.  I will soon have the specs and more details and pics on the car in the "My Car" section of the website.

Concert: Area1 Festival!
- An awesome night tonite!  I got the hook up and got my hands on 2 - 20th row seats, plus 8 general admission seats to the Area1 Festival tonite, and it gave me a great chance to hook up my close friends for an awesome night of tunes.  Alyssa and I headed down on MARTA from my work and met up with Jeff, Nolan and Mike and the crew and went in to the HiFi Buys Amphitheatre for the action.  Incubus was playing in the main amphitheatre when we walked in, but after getting a bev, we quickly walked passed that mess and headed straight for the booming bass sounds coming from the tent on the other side of the venue.  We were hoping Carl Cox was still on, and we were lucky enough to get just that.  We got in and jammed out to about 30-45 minutes of Cox.  That guy rules.  After Cox went off, we left the tent to look for friends, take bathroom breaks, and get more bevs in preparation for the master: Paul Oakenfold.  I bumped into several friends and got a chance to catch up with old ones, and then finished my missions so that I could get back to the tent.  A line had started to form at the tent's entrance after Carl Cox, because they stopped letting people in since the tent was at capacity.  So they would only let in small groups at a time... as people left the tent.  We didn't want to miss Oakenfold, so we jumped in line and quickly scammed our way in just in time to see him start his set.  We threw down as Oakenfold delivered his usual mastery for 2 solid hours.  The crowd ate it up, and the energy and vibe was high.  Once Oakenfold went off, we took a bev break and then Alyssa and I headed to our 20th row seats in the amphitheatre for the last part of Moby.  Moby was rockin' and did an awesome job of finishing off the show.  I had a great time, and from the phone calls and emails I got after the show, everyone had an awesome time no matter which stage they were watching.  Definitely a night to remember and a rare chance to see Cox and Oakenfold perform together in such a unique environment and to such a diverse audience.  (pics of the show are coming soon!)

Rave: Chromatic - Spacemen...
- An awesome time tonight!  I went up to the Masquerade (home of many-a-past rave for me), and went in to enjoy this month's Chromatic.  I got the word earlier in the day that my friends Jeff and John *would* be spinning outside on the patio there after all!... So that made it all the better.  After some in car pre-party beving, I went in and made my way around checking out the situation.  I got there around 11'ish and the crowd was pretty thin (at least for a party that size)... but it soon began to get more and more crowded.  I made my way around bumping into friends in every room... and after catching up with this one and that one, and hookin myself up with another bev, I made my way upstairs to see what kinda hu-bub was going on up there.  The upstairs had been hosting an unrelated hip-hop show, but it ended at like 1, and thats when the big DJ's came on... When I got up there, DJ Paul Santana was on spinning some nice tunes.  I managed to get my paws on a free CD that was thrown out to the crowd (sweet).  After that I went back downstairs to tour around and get ready for Spacemen, who were coming on soon.  Before Spacemen came on, I got word from a friend that Steve Lawler wasn't going to be making it to the show because his records had gotten stolen at an airport in Toronto (so it was said).  That sucked, but Spacemen was still bound to rock... and rock they did.  I was right up in the front for the action, and they delivered it hard-core.  The crazy ass masked dudes came out dancin around and pumpin up the crowd, and at one point brought out this huge ass balloon.  He was holding it right over my head, and the heads of the people right there, and he was dancing around with it and then squeezed it and it popped.  The balloon was full of glitter and it showered all over us that were right up in front and since we were dancin and sweatin, it stuck to us like glue... Even when I got home, I still had glitter all over (as seen in this pic).  After Spacemen went off, they formally announced that Lawler wasn't going to be able to be there (until then, it hadn't been posted or announced at the party)... but that there *would* be a free makeup party (tight!).  I still went around and enjoyed the serious fun.  Jeff did a great job spinnin the Goa trance outside, and all around, it was a kick ass party.  Had the chance to see and hang with so many of my friends and get my groove on... Definitely worth attendance!

Lyrical Journey - I felt the song was already great, and once I really stopped and actually read the lyrics I liked it even more... This is the 3rd track entitled "You Wouldn't Believe" off the new 311 album "From Chaos".  The song is about about a guy who is going through a bad breakup and he's finding it hard to move on.  He's forgotten what he loves about life and those personal traits which he has that are so great and positive because his self esteem is so low.   Click here and read the lyrics, and be sure to listen to the song if you haven't yet... If you have already heard the song, take another listen... the song may take on a newer meaning for you after you've read these lyrics.  Peace and Positivity.

Cha Cha Cha - I slept late today to kinda try my best to recover from last night... and actually this whole weekend... but I still woke up feeling cracked out... I just sorta felt down today... But as usual, my cheery friend Alyssa did her best and cranked up my soul.  We hooked up for some dinner at La Cazuala.  Man, I love that place, and I haven't been there in forever... so I was due.  We sat and had a good talkin'.... We came back to my house and did some various shit (copied the new 311 CD, spun some records, looked at my Destin trip pictures, etc.)... basically just some good chill hang time.  I ran some errands after she left and have been tryin to help a couple friends through some pretty bad problems they're havin'.  Been a purty long day today, and a new week starts tomorrow, so peace out, I'm goin unconscious.

Rave: @ the Globe - I rolled on down to the Globe to continue my weekend party marathon, and jammed to the tunes.  I found it baffling that I recognized very few people there.  I notice a few of the regular ravers, and of course my close friend Ryan, but for the most part, it was a totally different social circle than the typical ravers I see at the other parties... (like at Lorettas, Masquerade, the Church, etc)... It was like a whole new community.  Everyone there seemed to be in good sprits for the most part.  I wasn't really in a social mood I guess, that and I wasn't clicking with the vibe or something.  I did have a good time though...  I got my groove on, and even caught a free CD.  So it all worked out.  =)

Raves: Danny The Wildchild @ Loretta's & ESP 101 @ the Church - Just got in from Florida last night, but I wasted no time in getting down ta ben-'ness... Much fun was jam packed into tonight's escapades.  I went down to Lorettas to catch Danny The Wildchild.  I have seen him spin before and enjoyed his styles.  He was doin well, but for some reason, I wasn't feelin' the vibe @ Lorettas, so I took off after a lil while.  I went down to the Church for the weekly ESP 101.  They had some Athens DJ's along with the usual regulars.  I bumped into a few good friends down there and I was feelin good.  It was nice to be back in town to enjoy some quality tunes and a positive scene... something lacking in Destin, heh.

Honey, I'm Home - I got in tonight from my week trip to Destin Florida.  What a busy day it's been today.  I woke up at like 8:30 am today, and threw my shit into my parents car and checked out of the condo.  From there, I had some time to kill, so I roamed around Destin, checkin' some places out, doin' some shoppin, and eatin lunch.  Eventually my time came, and I left for the Airport.  My flight back was smooth.  I had an emergency exit isle window seat, so I had ample space and a good view.  As we flew out of the Fort Walton Beach airport, we actually flew right over Destin, and Sandestin, the resort we had been staying at the whole week.  I took a moment to snap a pic or two (of which I hope to be posting soon).  After arriving in Atlanta and taking MARTA back to my office, I did some work and left to go to my close friend Ryan's house.  He and I spent some quality hang time and watched Almost Famous.  That was good fun.  I *eventually* got "home" at like 6:30 am Friday morning... heh... so I guess it really was a long trip home.

My Destin Florida Trip

Destin: Day 8  - I'm headin' home!
Wednesday, June 20, 2001 -
Destin: Day 7  - Today was the last full day here in Destin, and it was the perfect last day. I was somehow able to squeeze a helluva lotta stuff in... I woke up and grabbed some lunch then went down to the beach where I bumped into my bro Matt and his wife Jenna. I did some ocean swimming for a lil bit, then my bro and I decided to try and go snorkel at the jetties in downtown Desitn. So we headed back to the condo to gear up and went down... We searched down sidestreets and wound our way through various lil places down near the inlet, but couldn't really find any good places to put in... We finally found a small park, and a possible place that might provide some good snorkeling, but the shallow sand bar that was out in the middle of the channel was too far for us to try and swim in the tides. After giving that mission our best shot, we decided to do the parasailing. We made some calls and managed to get in on the last ride of the day. I had some serious fun up in the air... even saw a shark swimming down in the water.. (and I'm glad the boat driver wasn't dropping me down in the water at that point)... We got done with that deed and went back to the condo to meet up with the fam for dinner. We went out to eat at Pompino Joes, and I think it was the best dinner we had out all week. We had a view right on the ocean and the food was good action. It really closed out a great last day, and now I'm packin and sortin all my stuff to get ready for the trip back. I'm lookin forward to seein all my friends that I miss, and hittin' some good ole ATL raves!
Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 4:20 am EST
Destin: Day 7  - Another good day in good ole F-L-A.  We went jet skiing yesterday and that was good fun.  Those suckers hauled ass too.  There wasn't really anyone out on the big 3 mile wide bay, so we were hot doggin and havin' a good ole time.  Today (Tues), I woke up and ran some errands.  First on this list... buying the new 311 CD that was released today!  I had to pay out the nose for it at this over priced local music store here on the island, but it all worked out.  The album is great thus far, but I can't wait to have more time to digest it further.  I went and picked up the first 2 rolls of film that I have taken with my new camera.  They came out pretty cool.  After that I grabbed a quick bite at the local Taco Bell (of course).  After talking on the cell phone for a while with Alyssa, I hit the beach for a swim.  Ahhhhh... After my swim, I went back to the room to get ready real quick for dinner with the fam.  Mom was feelin sorta nauseous, so Matt, Jenna, MaKenna, and I went down to Fisherman's Wharf.  The food wasn't too bad, better than some of the other places we've eatin at this week.  After some exploring, I came back and have been doing various stuff around here and goin to the beach and what not.  Tomorrow is the last full day we're here and I'm gonna try and squeeze a lotta shiznit in there. =)
Saturday, June 16, 2001 - 3:58 pm EST
Destin: Day 3  - Well I woke up late around 2 (nothing new there), and now I'm chillin out, gettin ready to grab a bite of lunch then head to the beach for some fun in the sun.  I'm not too sure what the plans for later are, but we might be hittin' a club or two in downtown Destin again like we did last night.
Thursday, June 14, 2001 - 5:27 pm
Arrival  -I've done my flight, picked up my rental car and checked in... Now I'm just sittin' back waitin on the rest of the gang to catch up and get down here.  I think my brother Todd should arrive within about 2 hours, and the rest of em' shortly after.  I think we're goin out to eat and goin to get groceries and of course the usual mess of unpacking and what-not.  It's nice down here though, and there's gonna be a lot of places to get my fun on.
Thursday, June 14, 2001 - 9:55 am
Break It Down, Vacation Style  - With very little sleep, I'm getting ready to head out to go to the airport and catch my flight to Ft. Walton Beach, where I'll pick up my rental car and drive about 15 minutes east to Destin, Florida. I'm spending a week there with the family in a house we've rented in some fancy-shmancy resort community called Sandestin.  It should be good action... I'll keep you posted.

Rave: Future Funk - I was heading out tonite to Future Funk with Monk (of Rabbit in the Moon), and Funklab, Huda Hudia and some others, but it turned out to not be held at the Market like the flier and plans had been made out to be.  The party had to be moved last minute to Studio Central after Vinyl Boy had some problems at the Market involving some disputes with the landlords... But I was determined to get my groove on anyhow, despite the change in venue... So my friend Mike and I headed down.  Studio Central was where I attended my very first rave, and this was the first chance I'd had to go back there since, so I was kinda psyched about that.  When we got there, Funklab was on with a live P.A.... They were rockin'... I was not expecting them to be as cool as they were... and I did not waste any time getting right into the mix of things.  After I discovered the 2 dollar Icehouse draft beers, my nights course was set... My friend and I were soon carrying quite a buzz on... and having a blast.  Monk came on and really rocked it up with some serious bass... The night was great, but the highlights definitely went to Monk and Funklab... Awesome... I had a better time than I had expected to after I had heard about the change in venue.  I bumped into a few friends I had met the week before at the Chromatic party at the Market, as well as several of my usual friends I see at every party.  It was a great nite, and a change from the typical.  Caught free CDs from Funklab too... That always helps! =)

Rave: Chromatic - Big party tonite up at the Market.  Vinyl Boy brought in AK1200, Baby Anne, Sandra Collins, Hive and others, including my friends Jeff (Invisible) and John (DJ After) to spin some massive tunez.  There were a ton of people there, which was the first real capacity test for this new venue.  I arrived at around 11, and after doing my preparty bev'ing and such Action, I walked up and noticed the line stretching a hell of a long way from the door.  It ended up taking me about 40 minutes to get inside, and after waiting in another line to use the bathroom, and yet another to get to the outside area, I was finally set. Jeff was on, and delivering the tunes.  There was a sizeable crowd in the outside area... helped out a good deal by the heat from the inside being so bad... But it was great to see Jeff and John get such good exposure.  I walked around out there and said hi to all my friends who were outside, then cruised inside to get the full tour of the scene, and then get my groove on to some Sandra Collins who was on the decks.  The vibe inside was great, despite the heat, and I was enjoying myself.  I bumped into a few more friends and made my way to the front and did some dancin'.  I met a rite cool guy named Jay (i think???) who was also at the party at the Market last weekend.  We danced up there for a while as Baby Anne threw out the beats.  AK1200 came on shortly after and spun his jungle insanity.  I headed outside for a break and to check in on my friends and the Goa Trance they had spinning.  I bumped into my friend AJ, and yet some more friends... And from then on out, it was sort of going back inside for a while then coming outside to chill for a bit.  By the nights end, i was soaked to the bone, and tired as could be.  But I had spent some quality time with my old friends, and met a few new ones to boot.  I left when the beats went silent at 7:20am... I said my goodbyes and then hit the road for the long, sobering ride home.  You know you've done your time at a party when you're coming home, not just when the sun's coming up, but when rays of sunlight are hitting your face.  It was a great party though, and one of the better ones I've been to lately.  Glad I put in my time.

Mmmm... Files!
- Thanks to my online pal Steve, I got the tip on a new "share" program that works a lot like the former Scour program worked.  To those unfamiliar with Scour... this new program allows you to search for MPEG videos/movies, MP3, pics and more... So you can get music videos, Simpsons episodes, porn galore, and all the tunez a person could want.  Check it out... Go to www.musiccity.com and look for the download link for a program called "Morpheus".   I just managed to get my hands on the *studio* copy of the new 311 single "You Wouldn't Believe".  It was impossible to get from any of the other search programs like Napster (who is now blocking "311")... but it came right up in Morpheus.  It sounds great.  If you haven't heard the studio version of the tune, make that your first download. =)  Happy searching.

Red Lobster
- Alyssa and I went up to Red Lobster for the fuck of it tonight.  We both had a hankerin' for some seafood so we met up at the Red Lobster on Pleasant Hill and chowed down... and I mean... serious chowin-down.  Mmmmmm... We got this crazy seafood dip and chips and all sorts of food.  Afterwards, we headed over to Brewsters for some ice cream.  After finishing that off, I drove her around as I played her the new Jackal & Hyde song I got free from the rave last night... dope soundz!  Alyssa and I parted ways and I decided there was only one way to finish off the night since I don't hafta work tomorrow... and thats by goin back to the house and makin' pina coladas... mmmmm... I managed to pack a lil mini-vacation in today.  Go me!  =)

Rave: Deep Sound @ the Market
- Jeff and I went down to the Market to catch Jackal & Hyde spin some elektro breaks.  Jeff also happens to be spinning at the big ass party next weekend up there, so it was a good chance for him to actually check out the venue for the first time.  Jackal & Hyde didn't come on at the scheduled time (rumor was they wanted to wait till more people showed, but I'm not sure why, there was a good crowd as it was), but Omar Santana got the crowed geeked with the massive Hardcore tunes.  The outdoor area was pretty hopin' too.  Jeff and I took breaks out there to chill and eye where everything would be placed for his setup at next weekend's party.  Jackal & Hyde finally came on around 3ish? and rocked hard core... The crowd was eatin it up.  and at the end of the set they threw out some free Jackal & Hide vinyl!  Jeff and I both caught one of those, plus I got my hands on a free CD, and he got a lil T-shirt.  It was quite clear that we scored, hard core.  To cap it all off I got "Hyde" to personally sign Jeff and I's vinyl.  Sweeeeet?... Yes.  Good fun was had!  I'm tired, dirty and kinda ripe, so its the showers and bed for me, peace!

Let's All Go To The Movies...
- I checked out the flic "Driven" tonight with Rambo-boy himself.  It was definitely a dude movie, and had lots of computer animated special effects.  But it was cool enough to even insight some adrenaline gearhead macho crap into me.  Not too shabby.
Rave: Vinyl Boy's Monthly @ the Market - It sucked that Jeff and John (Invisible & After) didn't get to spin because their outdoor area had to be cancelled due to weather... but I went ahead and went down to the market late tonite to check out the Jungle and other assorted tunes.  Not a huge crowd... done in somewhat by the dreary weather no doubt.  I'm lookin' forward to the June 2nd party at the Market though, that should be chainless.  It was nice running into a few of my friends down there though.

Rave: DJ Icey & Christopher Lawrence
- Went up to the remodeled Loretta's building off Spring St. and caught Icey and Christopher Lawrence throw down the beats to a nice sized crowd.  Icey rocked for what seemed like a pretty lengthy set.  I bumped into several friends who also came down for the action.  I couldn't help but wish that I was still living at the dorms so I could just walk home after the party.

Cha-Ching!
- Well I had to bite the bullet.  After some long thought and a crazy techno tune filled nite, I went ahead and made the purchase.  I bought some tables.  They aren't the Techniques that are the highly revered among DJ's, but they aren't the low grade DJ in a Box brand either.  After some test-spinning with me and DJ Invisible (my boy Jeff), we've concluded that these are gonna work out fine for workin' up skillz on the tables.  That will buy me some time till I can plunk down the cash for the big time goods, and the time I need to hone my skillz.   Jeff is loaning me some of his trance tunes since he rarely touches the stuff, and I'm gonna start workin' on those till I buy some vinyl of my own.

Rave: Outerlimits 5th Anniversary
- Gwinnett's own North Atlanta Trade Center played host to yet another large party as Outerlimits brought forth it's 5th Anniversary Party.  The party was live with my fav's Deepsky, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Micro, my friend Mayhem, and others... Highlights of the night?  Definitely Deepsky... I was right up front in the sweaty mess, and they were throwing it down.  Deepsky preformed lived, and brought the crowd up to a peak level of craziness.  The ended their set with an encore and a performance of "Stargazer". Bad Boy Bill followed and kept things goin with some beats and a healthy dose of scratches... Dan did a great job of climaxes... I hadn't seen him before, and had heard a good bit about him so this was my first chance.  Micro did a great job spinning some of his classic mixes and for me was a great highlight of the night especially after I had lost my keys.  I had lost them maybe an hour or so before, and after some fretful searching, I just decided to screw it and not worry about it and just have a good rest of the time.  But, just for laughs,  I went ahead and asked a cop if there was a place someone might turn in lost keys and it just so happens that some raver had turned them into him... Karma is a crazy thing, but it is definitely out there...  And in any club or bar... I can close to promise the same thing would not have happened.  Mad props to that nice raver, or anyone who would have done the same thing.  :o)  See you next weekend.

Music Midtown
- OK... It really isn't Sunday... I'm writing this after the fact, but I felt it was important enough to go back and retell some things, since this was a pretty big deal.  I caught Music Midtown this weekend (the last weekend in the dorms for the school year).  For those of you living in a ditch, Music Midtown is this mega outdoor music festival here in downtown Atlanta.  I got the hook up from the station so me and some of the school chums went down and caught the action.  Now, there was NO way that we were all gonna agree on music, but we met up now and then at the festival while screaming over cell phones that did and most of the time that did not work.  Some of the artists I got a chance to partake were the Wallflowers, Run DMC, Marvelous 3, Bob Dylan, Live, and some misc. others that I can't recall because it's a week later... But anyhew, it was good fun, and many laughs were had.  And it shall be known.

"Final"ly:
- 2 of my finals for this semester were today.  The first didn't go as well as it probably could have, but alas, I think I made up for it on the second one.  Once that crap was done, I treated myself to a live concert put on by our school in Hurt Park.  I got there right in time to catch Jump Little Children come on and play.  Friends of mine have been trying to turn me on to this band for a while, so I was glad to finally be able to see them, and thankfully the weather kicked ass and it was just the perfect time for an outdoor concert with their type of tunes.  I'd recommend checking them out too... Here are some pics I took during the show.

Muffin Pie: - An interesting experiment tonight... Jeff and Tony came over to the dorm and hung out for a bit, and for whatever reason I got in the mood for some muffins.  I whipped up the mix and had it ready to go, but I couldn't find the freakin' muffin pan.  So... as any single guy would do, I used some kitchen improvisation, and used a pie plate and made some blackberry muffin pie.  And it was F'in good!  I don't know what the moral of the story is, but there's damn sure gotta be one in there somewhere!

Mondays?... Disgusting: - Monday is that recoup day that I hafta have to get back into the groove of things.  It's usually a sucky day in itself just because it's the beginning of the week.  But if anything goes wrong, or if anything out of the routine occurs, it always seems 10 times worse.  All of this is mainly because my sleep schedule is forced to dramatically shift back into this "normal"  crazy world.  Since it's nearly impossible to force myself to go to sleep early, what I usually end up doing is staying up till I get tired Sunday night, then getting a much less than normal amount of sleep... thus forcing me to bed earlier Monday night.  I'm feelin the "burn" right about now, I can tell ya.  Anyhew... On with the crazy show.

Rave: Planet of the Drums: - Good turnout for the Drum and Base rave down at the Masquerade tonite.  I'm not sure why they bothered mentioning in their newsgroup post that they would be underselling tickets to prevent overcapacity, because it was pretty hard to get from upstairs to downstairs because of the crowd most of the night.  Thankfully they had enough security at the door so it took zero time to get in (unlike New Years).  Once inside the tunes were loud and strong in whichever room you choose.  I roamed around a good bit, but spent most of my time upstairs enjoying the insane 5 hour tag-team action between Dara, Diesleboy, and AK 1200!!!  The beats were 100% pure nastiness, and me and the rest of the crowd were eating it up.  The MC that was on wasn't anything particularly special, but it didn't really take away from the experience.  I think by nights end, it was the largest crowd I've ever seen at 6am at the Masquerade.  Many of 'em were asking "where to now?".  For me, it was just starting to get light outside, and that meant only one thing... I had to hit the sack.  I went across the street to Kroger to grab some Cool Ranch Doritos (as I had been craving them ALL nite), and dashed back to the dorm.  All in all... it was a great night of tunes, with a ton of dancing... It was a classic rave experience... one I haven't had in a long time.

Friday Night Warmup: - A low-key Friday was called for... I did some quality hanging at the dorm then went down and caught John (DJ After) spin at the Masquerade.  Turn-out was minimal, but it was still good tunes.  No doubt a lot of people were holdin' back for tomorrow night's Liquified's Planet of the Drums at the Masquerade.  That should be interesting.

No Need To Refrigerate: - Wow.  It has been a while.  But, alas young turkey, for here I be.  I finally got a chance to buy and watch "American Beauty".  Wow, what a brass monkey funky movie that was.  The movie seems so freakin' obscure and artsy to have won so many awards in 1999.  If you haven't seen this flick, then go check it out.  PS. - It is more fun drunk.

SPECIAL WEEKEND COVERAGE
Rave: Ultra3: - (Click here to view Pics of the trip)
This truly was the trip of a lifetime. The story begins here: You see… a couple of weeks ago while attending a local rave here in Atlanta, I had gotten a flyer for this massive outdoor party in Miami called Ultra3. It listed just about every headliner that I've seen at the major raves I've attended in the last year.  DJ's like Paul Oakenfold, Sasha & Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, LTJ Bukem, AK1200, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill and so many others, all spinning in one fantastic night at what it billed itself as the "world's largest industry showcase of electronic dance music".  I drooled over the possibility of catching a cheap airfare on AirTran and jetting down for the day just to catch this event, but when I checked into it on the web, the airfare was simply too much. That added with a car rental and the admission ticket cost of nearly $60 made it too far out of reach for reality. But…Then a chance came… While working at the radio station on Friday, I was sitting with some co-workers who were mentioning going on a trip the next day to escort some winners who had won a contest the radio station had conducted. The trip was to fly down Saturday morning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, spend the day watching a pre-season spring training baseball game, then fly back early Sunday. It was only after looking where Fort Lauderdale was on a map, that I realized how easy it would be to drive the short 20 minutes south to Miami to see this massive outdoor festival event. My co-workers invited me to go, telling me they could easily get me hooked up with the airfare and hotel accommodations. After some egging on, I decided to throw caution to the wind and live in the moment. I made the commitment, and now I had to act quick.

I called up my friend Alyssa and invited her, she muscled her way out of work the next day and then said she was in. Then I went to the internet and nailed my commitment to this deal. On Friday night, I sat online less than 24 hours before I'd be arriving in Florida. I made my rental car reservation, and then bought my presale tickets for the massive Ultra3 show. With my work done, I did what any other sane person would do…. I went and saw my boy Jeff spin at the Masquerade. What a PERFECT way to celebrate. He did a great job and the general atmosphere with everyone there was awesome. Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep Friday night. And that would prove to be the course for the weekend as it turned out.

Early on Friday morning I got my things together and met up with Alyssa here at the dorms. Armed only with our book bags, we walked to the MARTA station and headed to the airport. Things got grim there though, when it seemed we might not be able to get a flight after all. The AirTran flights to Fort Lauderdale were overbooked most of the day, and there were problems getting us on the flight. However, things got promptly worked out and Alyssa and I boarded the next flight out at around 930. When we got to the Airport, we grabbed the rental car and made for the hotel where we checked into our room. We sat in the room and started strategizing about how best to go about our plans. We had the list of DJ's and the times they were going on. I had gone through the list last night and highlighted all the "must-see" DJ's. It was around 2 o'clock, and she and I hadn't eat or sleep yet. We decided rather than rush, we'd take a window of opportunity and grab a brief 2 hour nap. Then we woke up, showered and suited up.

I… for "some" reason, got this notion for having a quality meal at Taco bell before going to Ultra3. I guess it was a tradition for me in some way to enjoy some Taco Bell before a big rave. With some craftiness on Alyssa and I's part (which included a map of local Taco Bells I had printed before we left), we were able to hook ourselves up with some good eating.

I felt lucky to able to go to a large city like Miami, but on top of that go to this huge techno music festival. I wasn't initially looking forward to the drive into downtown Miami. I had no idea what to expect with parking and what not, and the fact that Ultra3 was a 30,000+ capacity event I knew it could spell trouble. But things worked out, and we found a parking space and headed in.

As soon as we got in we bumped into our pal Nolan who along with his friend, had driven all night long from Atlanta to see this show. He was happy to see us and happy to be at this event. And no wonder, it was unreal. I took a tour around and everywhere you went there were baselines and beats. 10 stages, strobing blue and red spot lights, brightly animated green argon lasers, arts & crafts, and food. To add to this, it was all set in this massive park on the bay front in downtown Miami. So there you were, surrounded by tall skyscrapers on one side, and an endless saltwater bay on the other. A great steady breeze blew through the park area, and the skies were clear.

Just a very small bit of the tune highlights:
  • Carl Cox. What a man. This guy is the guy you want to see at the end of any show. He just gets so into his tunes, and brings you up to the pinnacle of each track.
  • Paul Van Dyk came out to the thrills of the crowd. After a bumpy start due to some sound problems and a weird clown bumping into his decks, he got it goin, and the crowd followed in kind.
  • John Digweed. I really wanted to see Sasha & Digweed spin together, but apparently Sasha has some type of medical thing going on and couldn't do it, but I won't complain about any quality Digweed. He spun his usual taste of tunes and it was good action.

The people at the event were numerous, and from what I could tell, most all of them seemed to be in good spirits. The attractive people knew this event was going on evidentially, because they came out in full force. As did the some of more the "unique" side of Miami's nightlife.

I spent time hanging with Alyssa and Nolan, but I also ventured off on my own a good bit. It felt so good to get out and explore on my own. It gave me a sense of freedom and extreme peace to wander around from stage to stage, turning around a corner only to find yet another stage or unique area.

On the bay front side of the park, you could see that many others had planned on this event. There were numerous "party boats" in the area that circled or passed by. I recall one very large yacht in fact, which floated by blaring techno loudly, as they had their own floating rave.

I decided to have some beer, but this proved to be more difficult than I had expected. It had something to do with long lines, and having to buy a ticket first, then turn the ticket in for a drink…. It was a fiasco, but once I got the system figured out, I was golden.

I ended up bumping randomly into a friend of mine AJ that was in a film class I had last semester at Georgia State. He and his crew were down at the event, and had driven down to see some of their favorites. It was so wild to see someone you know out of the blue in so far from home. It was totally cool though.

The trip's end came as planned. We caught what was I imagine, the first flight to Atlanta at 7:10 am. Coming full circle from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale in almost less than 24 hours. My hotel and airfare being free made my cost localized to eating and the ticket into the event. This whole trip seems like a dream. Certainly a lot of it has to do with the fact that I didn't get any sleep the entire weekend.. But when I woke up today (Sunday), it seemed as if I had been asleep since Friday and had this wonderfully detailed dream. I can say that this was a great adventure, and even though the loss of sleep has been painful. It had to be done, and I'm so much the better for it. I feel recharged from this trip, and I feel like that a small certain part of me that was missing before, makes a little more sense to me now.

Insanity: - This perhaps could be the most insane weekend ever.  I just recently got back from seeing my boy Jeff (DJ Invisible) spin up at the Masquerade.  He did a sick set of dark tunes that was certainly chainless.  And now.... The insanity continues.  I'm about to start getting ready to head to Hartsfield International Airport where I will board a free flight to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where I will drive to see one of the biggest techno parties in the world.  Ultra 3 will take place today (sat.) in Miami and I and my pal Alyssa will be there in full force.  Through an amazing break at the radio station, I was able to scam a free plane trip and hotel for me and Alyssa, and after forking over the cash for a rental car and a ticket in, we will enjoy pure insanity of the best DJ's the world has to offer.  I swear, it seems like every headliner I've seen at any rave in the last year will be representing tomorrow at this massive event.  I still am amazed I'm even going.  It's all been last minute and spur of the moment, so there's no time to spare.  I'm working on zero sleep and I don't know how this will turn out, but I will surely post the mess of it here.  Wish me luck!  Peace!

Back to Work
: - Man, why does this always happen?  Just as I find my groove for this Spring Break, its come to an end.  Now, as I sit here on the computer putting off my homework, I can't help but to cringe at the stuff I hafta do this week.  A homework assignment here, a test there, it's a sideshow convention, aka, my life.  I'm thinking there has GOT to be a way to spice things up.  You know, make them more crazy-whack-funky.  OK, wait, maybe that's not what I want.  But something more funnerer..er?  I'm thinkin' a "Yes" on that one.
311!!!: - P.S - Happy 3-11 day to all my fellow 311 fans!  Peace, positivity, and respect!

Spring Break Friday
: - I just returned from exploring the Georgia Tech campus on foot.  I like the campus over there.  It's full of paved walkways and cool little quads.  It's the perfect little walk-a-bout to take when you want to do some thinking.  I'm sittin' here at the dorm now, thinking about running up to Taco Bell before I go ahead and get ready to go to Liquified's Full Moon Celebration rave tonight at Loretta's.  Should be a good party.  I've finally decided to shrug off any remaining ideas of getting anything productive done over this Spring Break, as it just isn't going to happen, and rather then stress out over not being able to get stuff done, I'm going to just not do it.  This new mentality is proving to work well as I feel much less stressed, and I figure that's got to be a part of what Spring Break is about. eh?
Raves: Liquified Groove's Full Moon Celebration & ESP 101:
- It's been an extremely busy and lengthy night tonight.  It's daybreak, and I've just returned from non-stop night of tunes and fun.  It started at the Liquified Groove Full Moon Celebration, at their new revamped venue in the old Loretta's Building, which just happens to be walking distance from the dorms.  How convenient.  I did a little pre party celebrating here at the dorm, then walked over to the party and enjoyed the new place.  After bumping into friends, I explored the new venue and took in the tunes.  Monk was quite good and spinning some crazy shit that had the crowd worked all up.  After touching base with some friends, I decided to follow their lead and head towards the Church to see what was goin on up there.  I walked back to the dorm for an "intermission" and recharged, then headed down there.  There was a pretty good crowd down there, and I did my usual touring and talking.  It was a real treat and a perfect way to end the night by climbing to the upper balcony overlooking the interstate and Turner Field and watching the sun rise in a clock-work sync with the loud rhythmic techno beats thundering away in the background.  The upper patio, (populated only by the combination of tired ravers, and the single girl who ran up to me announcing she was tripping balls and laughing about how great this was) was a refreshing place and a great way for me to reflect upon the night.

Raves: Playhouse & ESP 101
: - Another double-shot weekend.  This time breaks at the Playhouse brought a smile to my face.  By about 3ish, I cruised over to the Church and got in on that action till they kicked us out at like 640a.  Good tunes, but the cold and rainy night impacted the turnout at both venues.  Some people may have been holding off for tomorrow nights "Goddess II" show at the Atrium.  But regardless of any of that BS, I had a good time, and a well needed kickoff for my Spring Break!

Pre-Spring Break Midterm: - Econ exam tomorrow.  My brain is sponging up about 200 exam questions.  Mmmm sponge.

Only In Atlanta: - So I'm walking back today from campus to get on MARTA and come back to the dorms, and the sock-selling dude (this dude who is always standing in front of the 5 Points MARTA station selling socks) tries to use the line, and I quote:  "Hey, Real Slim Shady... how 'bout some socks?".

Deeds: - I woke up late and decided to go out and rollerblade despite the bad weather.  I made a deal of it, and went and got some Philly Connection and went skating for a while.  After, I went up to the park for a nice head-clearing walk.  I ran some errands and what not and headed back to the dorm.  Basically, your typical Sunday night.  On the way back to the dorm, I DID decide to partake in a raspberry slushpuppy.  Man, I forgot how messed-up-good those things are!  Mmmmm.
Friday, February, 23, 2001
Raves: Playhouse & ESP 101: - I did a double-shot tonight.  Went up to the Masquerade and caught some breaks courtesy of Rick West.  He did a good set, but the crowd didn't see too into it, which was too bad.   After about 3 am, I went down to the Church and caught ESP 101 for whatever they had goin' on.  The jungle downstairs was okay, but I enjoyed the tunes they had goin' upstairs good.  It was a good night, and I got my groove on till around 7am.

Recovery: - Today I've just been hanging out and recovering from this weekend.  I've got a semi-busy week, so I don't have a lot of time to get things back together here and buckle down.

Rave: Carl Cox, Hybrid, Kazell: - Today gave into plans for a rave at the Tabernacle with Kazell, Hybrid, and Carl Cox.  This was just awesome.  The Tabernacle is one of my favorite venues for concerts in general, but to have it combined with a big rave was just the ultimate for me.  My friends and I got in free courtesy of the radio station hook-up, and we toured around and took in the massiveness of the Tabernacle.  So many rooms for chilling, and so many areas to enjoy the show.  You could sit and watch... or you could hit the main floor and dance your nuts off.  I did all of the above.  I bumped into many of my friends throughout the night, and spent a lot of time talking with them, dancing, and exploring around on my own.  The venue was great, and the tunes were off the chain and could not be denied.  I was sorry I didn't see Jeff and some of my other friends I knew were "some" where there, but I know they had a lot of fun last night too.  It definitely ranks among one of the best parties I've been to thus far.

Rave: Vinyl Boy 3rd Anniversary: - Tonight kicked off with a rave down at the Masquerade.  DJs Baby Anne, Icey, AK1200 among others were mixing up the phat beats.  The party was crowded, and with the exception of waiting outside in the cold rain, it was good fun.  I roamed from room to room searching for a good home.  I spent a good bit of time in the side room's "closet" as I like to call it.  I went upstairs and danced but spent a good amount of time downstairs enjoying the Queen of Bass, Baby Anne.  I stayed until they kicked us out at 6am, and by then I was ready to hit it anyway.  Good party though, it's rare to have that many of my fav's in one venue.

Shiny Happy People: - This is just a Friday shout to all the friends to let you know I'm actually still alive.  This has been a fucked up week.  Lots goin' on this week.  A few tests and what not at school, and a hectic week at work has kept me busy as crap.  The signs point to a good weekend ahead.  Peace friends.

Superbowls of Chunky Soup: - Superbowl Sunday meant bev action and camaraderie at the dorms.  A good crew of people showed up for the fun which apparently started early in the day, then progressed into late in the night.  In fact, I think it is still going on.  I'm here doing homework for tomorrow's Geography class.  Who-hoo.  But the action was chainless, as one can tell from the pics.

Rave(s and assorted other goods): - A productive and good day today.  I woke up late after a pretty long day yesterday, and went into work where I had another damn productive day.  After work was said, and done, I went across the street to visit my 'Ma in the hospital after she had her surgery earlier today.  She was doing pretty well, and as it happened, my ex girlfriend was there at the same time visiting her as well.  Now, keep in mind, I haven't seen my ex in over 9 years!  So, as you can imagine, this was no small deal.  But, I endeavored to live on.  I did take some time out to show her my work, and go out for a bite to eat with her.  It was cool to chill about old times and such.  She's evidentially going through some troubles which is too bad, but I hope that she finds resolution.  After that deed, I bolted for the dorms to change attire and jet to the Masquerade.  I entered the doors after some classic parking lot bev'ing and began enjoying the tunes.  I was tanked, and the place was pretty freakin' packed for a mid-small sized party as it was.  I was happy to see my friends Jeff, Nolan, and Tony there.  I did my time and stayed until they kicked us out at 4am.  I, however, was still in the mood for some tunes, so I dragged my bad ass down to the church for the "ACC Afterparty".  I caught Mayhem doing his set and stayed until I was again, kicked out into the cold at 6am.  I took that as a sign, and went for breakfast before heading back here to the dorm.  Right now, I'm waiting on my laundry to finish.  The dorm has free laundry day today, so I'm raping it and taking full advantage.  I have 5 machines going full throttle downstairs.  I can only hope that I will be able to stay awake long enough to go get my laundry out of the machines in a few!  Such is life.  Peace.

Funyons Are Good
- It was awful hard to get outta bed today.  A late night last night of hanging out at Jeff's and then Nolans.  We had fun though.  We (Alyssa, Tony, Nolan, Jeff, and Will) went over to Jeff's and watched the movie "Groove" and drank plenty of bev's.  Then after some chilling and chatting, Alyssa, Tony, and Will went to bed and Nolan, Jeff and I went to Nolans pad and tag-team spun.  That was good fun, but eventually I had to bail because of tiredness.  This week has gone pretty well, it's been pretty productive.  Today I didn't have to go to class because of some split-library session thing, and work was pretty productive so that's cool.  It's all good.

Ding  - Well I went up to the doctor yesterday for the fourth freaking time and got a lovely 'nother x-ray and work-over <bends over and coughs!>, but the gist is that it looks like the pneumonia is gone, at least mostly.  He's put me on yet another antibiotic.  This will be the third, but it was free, so I can't complain.  In other news, my mom surgery got delayed because the surgeon got sick.  Go figure.  We'll see what happens with that.   I  had today off from work and school because of the holiday, and I utilized it well by sleeping all day.  I got up eventually and took advantage of the semi-mild weather and went rollerblading!  I've been itching to do it for a while, and it's about time the weather improved enough for quality outdoor activity.  I also did a little shopping and picked up some clothes, and hit the Bell of course.  Not a bad day.  PLUS the top secret "Operation Elusive Tomato" has begun!  We'll see how that pans out, but whether our objective is met or not, we should have some fun. ;-)
Friday, January 12, 2001 - 6:21 pm
Long Road  - I think this disease sets a record for the longest length of time I've had an illness.  I'm actually pretty much over the pneumonia, but with these damn antibiotic pills, comes this awful nausea.  Back when I was 16, and in the hospital with pneumonia, I recall that the antibiotic I was on had me throwing up continuously.  I can only assume this antibiotic I'm on now must be the same thing or similar, since the doctor told me that this was a specific antibiotic for this type of infection.  Nevertheless, I'm pretty much fed up with it.  I find myself trying to scam my way out of taking the last 3 pills.  But I imagine I'll put in my time and take them anyhow.  Worst part is that I have to take them in the morning, so it ends up screwing me for the rest of the day.  All part of the fun.  I'd like to know where I signed up for this.   In other news, Mom got a reprieve from her neck surgery today.  Apparently the surgeon that was going to do it got quite ill last night, or perhaps he just partied to much...  Either way, they are rescheduling it for tomorrow I think.  For those of you who don't already know, it's a pretty big surgery.  They're going in to do some serious work on her spine.  Basically, it appears the shaft for the spinal column in her spine is too small, complicated further by offset vertebra which all combine to cause stress on the spinal cord.  Her doctors believe that this is the cause for various painful symptoms and numbness she has had for quite a while.  Hopefully this pretty serious surgery will go fine, and give her the up to 75% improvement her doctors are hoping for.  On a lighter note, it's the eve of a 3-day weekend.  It's a holiday on Monday, so I've got off of work and school, and I'm hoping to squeeze in some fun.  Possible mayhem is in the works.

Back To Skool  - I'm not sure why or how, but I laid in bed most of the night and somehow managed to get no sleep.  That set me off for what was sure to be a good start... I went down to campus to my first class, a Perspectives course.  I wasn't even sure which class it was I had signed up for, but I figured it wouldn't take me long to figure out.  It sadly took longer than I thought.  After about 30 minutes into the class I remembered that this must be the Global Media Perspectives course.  I'm not sure how this class will turn out yet.  It's too early to say.  Plus, I was so out of it being doped up on med's and running on no sleep that I could have gone to a concert and not known the difference.  I made the assumption (hopefully the correct one) that we would not have a lab today in my Geography lab science class since the first classroom day is tomorrow, so I skipped it and came back to the dorm to try and grab maybe an hour's sleep before going to work.  That was unsuccessful as well, so I stumbled into work and attended a couple meetings.  It was clear that I wouldn't be able to go much longer, so I left work and came back and pretty much passed out for about 4 hours.  It was nice to FINALLY get some actual sleep.  I woke up around 11 and here I am.  I'm tired so I will probably go back to bed soon, especially since I will have 3 classes tomorrow, the first of which at 9:30a.  We'll see how that goes.  Things are pretty challenging right now to say the least.

Signs Point to "No"
- I went for a return visit to the doctor today.  He listened to my breathing and felt there was improvement, so it looks like I'll avoid the hospital for the time being.  So attention focuses to the school semester which kicks off tomorrow at GSU.  My first class is at 10am, so hopefully I should be able to squeeze in at least a few hours of sleep.  My sleep schedule has been all outta whack, partially due to this illness and partially due to the holidays.  Well see how this awesome adventure turns out.

Man Down
- No raves tonight... No big plans... Just plenty of sickness.  I'm sick of being sick!  I've been ill with this symptom or that since X-mas, and today I decided to go back to go back to the doctor since I finished my antibiotics yesterday and I'm still ill.  So I'm all tired and sore all over, but I stroll down to the doc-in-the-box.  After a wait I get seen, and I figure I'll just get a quick examination and get some stronger pills or something... and it seems that's what the doctor thought too, but when he went to listen to my chest as I gave a deep breathe in and out, he didn't like what he heard, so he had a chest x-ray done.  It turned out that my right lung had pneumonia.  They gave me a nebulizer (this little medicated steam breathing device), then a steroid shot, and a antibiotic shot (both in the ass of course, ouch).  On top of that, he gave me steroid pills to reduce the swelling, and pain, as well as a stronger antibiotic pill more for pneumonia, and some cough syrup.  I'm supposed to go back tomorrow for him to check and see if I'm making any progress.  He may give me another nebulizer treatment, or perhaps an IV.  If he doesn't like the results of that, there is the possibility I could be hospitalized.  It would certainly be bad timing since the semester starts back on Monday, and a hospital stay would probably mean I'd hafta drop all classes this semester.  A major pain.   But, I hafta be careful. I mean yah, I already know pneumonia is pretty serious, and can even be deadly, but  I was hospitalized with pneumonia back when I was 16, and I was told then that I'm more susceptible to getting it again later in life than someone else who's never had it.  That 6-7 day hospital stay was not pleasant to say the least, so I'm hopeful to avoid that.  In the mean time, rest is called for, and plenty of it... So I'm off!

Maintain the Positivity
- Not much to report.  On Tuesday, I went back to work after my holiday vacation ended, and now I prepare to go back to school as well beginning next Monday.  No doubt things will get hectic once again.  Lately things have begun to shift.  It's intangible and therefore useless to try to describe in any detail.  But, I have a feeling, that perhaps things are going to change soon.  It's like being on the verge of an epiphany, except that I feel like I know it is coming ahead of time.

New Years Eve
Rave: Liquid Groove
- A big day today.  Lots to do, but it all boiled down to the Liquid Groove party at the Masquerade.  This was my 1 year anniversary rave, and it was a night to celebrate.  I did my running around then headed back to the dorm downtown to prep and change.  I made my way to the Masquerade and arrived around 11 pm.  The lot was already full, so I had to park way back in the hood.  The biggest downer was how cold it was.  Only a few people, who felt like carrying around their jackets all night, were dressed for the outside weather.  The rest of us, froze our buns off waiting an hour in line outside to get in... and that was the ticket holder's line!  Sadly and, somewhat un-poetically, I was within steps of the entrance, just outside of the Masquerade at the stroke of midnight.  My mind wasn't on celebrating or kissing... more on getting inside, warming my frostbitten fingers and toes, and doin' some booty shakin'.  And that's just what I did.  The security finally stopped searching people, so the line starting moving with lightening speed.  Why they didn't do that before midnight is anyone's guess.  The Masquerade was more packed than I've ever seen it.  It took 5-10 minutes to get from one room to another.  So the best strategy was to find the best room, and camp out.  And in my insane condition, that was just fine by me.  I mostly stayed upstairs, in the main room.  There were more people sitting down, and chilling out, which was what I was in the mood for.  Deepsky came on, and the place was bouncin'.  Deepsky did not disappoint.  I wish their set had been longer than 1 hour, but it seemed to last longer then that at the time, so it all worked out.  To make up for my missed "new years stroke of midnight", I found a 10 dollar bill on the ground.  I snatched it up and later shared the new found wealth with Nolan to buy him and myself a drink to ring in the new year.  I also got a couple of new year's kisses from lovely raver girls.  One even gave me a fun little bracelet... aww...  As the night wound down, I went downstairs to catch my boy Mayhem spin his set.  Poor guy was tired as all, and had a migraine to boot, but he did his damndest to finish the night off with a bang.  Jason, Nolan and I sat on the phat couch in the DJ booth and watched as he did his thing.  At 7, when it was time to go, the music faded to a silence, and there was the inevitable shout echoing down the hall from the bathroom yelling, "where the hell did the music go?"  But as the group got outside, we were greeted with a white wonderland.  A steady snowshower was coming down, and had already blanketed the area white.  It wasn't so bad we couldn't drive out of it, but it was enough to make us all recognize that this might just be a sign that this year is going to turn out pretty good.  And that is fine by me.

X-Mas Shopping
- There is no better time to do Christmas shopping than last minute... at least that has been my theory.  I did the bulk of my X-mas shopping today with help from my friend Michael.  We trolled around from store to store and mall to mall trying to get something decent for those left on my list.  We literally ended up going to Best Buy 3 times.  I knocked a good bit of it out though, and I've only got a bit more left to get done tomorrow.
Rave: Micro
- Micro threw down tonight for a much larger party than I thought.  It was quite crowded and the crowd was going nuts for Micro.  Micro didn't disappoint.  He spun an off the chain extended 3 hour set.  I bumped into several friends and regulars down there, and to top it off I was out of my gourd.  I was glad I showed up for this show.  Well worth it.

Rave
- Just a small one tonight up at the Masquerade, but a perfect way to kick off my vacation.  Some various locals, and DJ Santana spun some good tunes for a bigger crowd than I had expected.  I ran into my bud AJ up there, and generally had good time. =)

Snow
- It's Monday night, and for the second time within a week, we've got snow.  I'm sitting here and it's actually like early AM in the morning... A bunch of the foreign exchange students are outside throwing snow balls at each other.  It occurs to me that this might be the first time some of them have even seen snow before.  We didn't get as much snow as the suburbs got.  Most likely because the city is always a bit warmer.  The snow on the ground is a very wet slushy snow, but from watching the morning news, the temperature outside now is actually going to be the high for the day, which means it's only going to get colder.  I don't know what it's going to be like when all of that mess freezes.  It won't be pretty.  Perhaps that will get me a free day off from work?... I 'spoze we'll find out when I wake up.  But for now, I've had enough weather drama, so I'm hittin' the sack.

Rave: Mirage
- Went up to the Masquerade tonight and caught the Mirage part with Kimball Collins, Hardkiss and others.  Sadly, Kimball Collins, and Siren didn't make it due to flight problems... So a make-up party is in the works and they gave us discounted passes to that... So we'll see what that's about.  I did get to check out some good beats though.  Danny the Wildchild was playing some nice jungle upstairs.  He was tearin' it up on the scratches.  I hear my jaded raver friends trash record scratches in a mix, but I could care less.  It takes skill, and I think it sounds kickin'.  DJ Keri was thrownin' it down in the "Hell" section of the Masquerade.  That gal can belt a note for sure.  I spent a lot of time in the cave back in the "Purgatory" room.  With the state I was in, it was nice to take a seat in a dark room and chill to the tunes.  I did manage to climb the stairs to Heaven and see my friend Mayhem tear up a set.  The crowd was live, and pretty crowded for 5 AM at the Masquerade.  All in all another thumbs up from me.  When I got back to the dorm, and got ready for bed, I checked out the window and it had freakin' snowed. How fitting that there was a snowflake on the flyer for the Mirage party. The snow was the icing on the cake, so to speak, for a great night.

Rave: Baby Anne
- I went up to the Masquerade tonight to catch one of my personal favorite DJ's: DJ Baby Anne.  I was pretty let down when I finally got ready, and made my way down there to find out she didn't show due to illness.  But, I had decided I had put in my time and I was committed to have a good time.  So I did my pre-party bev'ing in the car, and went in.  I was pleasantly suprised that there was a pretty decent crowd under the circumstances. (Not helped any by the dreary cold foggy weather.)  And although the tunes weren't up to my level of enjoyment with Baby Anne, the tunes were pretty good.  I ended up staying for the duration until they kicked us out at 4am.  Good action.

Done!
- Well Fall Semester 2000 is officially over!  My last test was on Thursday, and now there's nothing left but to return some books and such, and wait on the grades to come in.  I will admit there is some stress in that, but I feel relieved now that in a way, it's no longer in my hands.  I'm hanging out at the dorm after running some errands, and I'm figuring I'll probably go up and check out DJ Baby Anne tonight at the Masquerade.  But some mucho chill time is in store.  'Bout damn time!

Next?
- Well I banged that paper out... Now it's on to studying for Final #1 for tomorrow.  The Philosophy beast visits tomorrow and I shall go to prepare and slay that mighty beast... or at least poke him a little bit.

Rave: AK1200
- Friday night, and what better place to be than the Masquerade jammin' to some tunes.  I went down to check out AK1200 and Jeff's friend John (DJ After) spin.  AK threw down the thick beats and the place was live.  DJ After had it goin on too.  All the regulars were there, and it was a mighty good time.  Next week should be good with my boy DJ Icey in town.  Good fun is planned and confirmed.  In the meantime, I will hafta pay my dues... I've got this sideshow 6-10 page paper for film to do before Monday, and then a final in Philosophy on Tuesday.  It's about that time, and it's going to be insane for the next couple of weeks.

Update
- I haven't posted since getting back from the holidays, so there's no time like the present.   Man, I cannot believe this President thing is still up in the air!  Unreal...  Well I'm still pulling for Gore, but it's not lookin good for Mister Clinton's V-boy.  Well they holidays were "swell".  I stayed here in town and hung with the fam.  We had Thanksgiving up in L'ville and pounded some good eats.  I checked out "Unbreakables" with Bruce WIllis, which *I* enjoyed, but it got mixed reviews from my brothers and the crew that went with me.  It's not the usual flic, but I liked it.  Other than the Thanksgiving and the movie, not a lot went down during the holiday... The cold rainy weather kinda hampered everyone's mood and most everyone I know stayed in.  My on-air shift on Thursday night was a blast, and thanks to all my peeps who tuned in for my  uncaged mayhem!!  heh... Sunday gave way to another Tech victory over the University of Georgia, which brought happiness.  And now... I sit perched on the final few days of classes before finals begin.  I found out my first final could be as early as next week! (if I decided to take the option of the early test day)... I also have a Film paper to do before next Monday.  This is where the fun is supposed to kick in!  (or maybe thats the drugs... oh i forget)

Holiday Time  - Well I'm up here at the radio station, getting ready to leave to begin some chillin out days.  Some serious feasting will be going on tomorrow out in L'ville at 2, and then it's pleeeenty of laziness on the agenda.  I'll be on-air late tomorrow night/Friday morning.  Should be interesting, since I won't be there.... but listen in anyhow beginning at midnight Thanksgiving night.  =)  laters...

Thingies  - Another freeaaakin Monday.  Kind of a cold brisk Monday to boot.  I went to Flim class today where I struggled to stay awake during our screenings of various French films from like the... 1950s.... Then I came back and scarfed down some Wendy's for lunch.  After catching up on today's election recount sideshow on CNN, I went in to the radio station for our weekly Manager's Meeting.  It was a pretty busy day at work, and on top of that, after work Steve and I had to study for our Math exam tomorrow.  That's gonna blow somethin serious.  But, after that's behind me, I'll be done with school for the week.  (I smell lots of sleepin.)... speaking of which, I should grab some now

Rave: Paul Oakenfold  - All the ravers of the world, unite!  Jaded ravers, non-jaded ravers, gays, straights, bis, old, and young... they all came out to party tonight!  A mucho sold out show at the North Atlanta Trade Center tonight made for some serious jamming.  Paul Oakenfold, debatably the top rated Trace DJ in the world, came and played to a hyped crew of people that got together to seriously throw down to his tunez.  And they did!... Ton's of fun as some friends and I descended onto the venue on a bitterly cold night at around 10:30p.  The line wasn't too long (luckily for us), and after having the insides of my shoes inspected by the door security, we were in.  We roamed around and surveyed then split up for a while to find our prospective homes.  I bumped into SO many familiar faces along the way.  I found my home near a light pole and threw down for most of the night.  I roamed around off and on, stopping to have conversations with other friends and familiar faces that showed up.  By night's end we had been there for a while and definitely put in our time.  We only left when the music stopped, and by then, we were ready for a bed.  It was a great night, and a special treat to have been able to see a man so talented, and who has not even visited Atlanta in over 2 years.  I don't know when he'll make it back to Atlanta, but this night was definitely a night to remember.  Rave on people!  =)

mmmm  - Want a good sandwich?  Then jack this maple honey Boars Head brand stuff up at the Publix deli... Man this is good action.

Rave: Bad Boy Bill
- Woke up late and ran some errands with my friend Michael.  Then we sat on our ass and play PlayStation for a good part of the night.  Then it came time to hit the Masquerade for a party.  Bad Boy Bill, DJ Funk, and others were up there sendin out some phat tunes.  I drove up and joined some of my friends (Ty, Ian, Nolan) and met some new ones (Andrew, and others but i suck at remembering names).  Anyhow, I drifted from room to room and due to the nature of my pre-party bev I was flyin pretty good.  It sucked that Ty and Andrew couldn't get back in... (something about re-entry and security) ... but I had a good time and enjoyed the tunes well into the 6am hour.

Rave: Aphrodite
- A sobering day after waking up from last night's bev' enjoyment.   But I made it into work and put in a good effort there... Then I decided to go get my sore throat checked out at the doctor's office... So I cruised over to Gwinnett and did that deed... got some free med's... went to L'ville to get my mail... did Taco Bell (of course) then came back to the dorm to get ready for Aphrodite.  While waiting on my laundry to finish, Ty dropped a line and asked for a ride to the party.  So he and I cruised up to the Masquerade, and after a parking sideshow, and some pre-party bev enjoyment, we got in.  The place was pretty packed and there were beats comin from all over.  After surveying, I decided that the best scene was upstairs, where the heat and massive amounts of groovin bodies were.  So I camped myself in there for a good deal of the night, groovin to Aphrodite's beats, and mingling around the room.  It was plenty of fun and by 5:45a Ty and I had our fun, so we bailed on the last 15 minutes, and went to Kroger for some post party Krogering.  We got our goods and headed back to our prospective places.  It was a good night I'd say.
Thursday, November 2, 2000 - pm
Night Time @ Jeff's  - Bev's Bev's Bev's... They were there... and therefore, they had to be consumed.  We did our part in that by enjoying some group sex (didn't actually happen) and quality time at Jeff's.  It was Tony's birthday so the "cool" people (i.e. - those who decided not to bail), hooked up and went over to watch tv, attempt to play poker, and do pleeeenty of smoking. (do these people like their cigarettes?)... It seemed like most everyone had to wake up for a test the next day (good planning), so we ended it early (3am).
Thursday, November 2, 2000 - 2:21 am
Lazy Day... Bout Time  - Today I'm still in awe of my 311 experience from last night.  It seems surreal that I actually got to meet the band... Anyhow, I slept late today to recover from the show, and from the 4 hours I've been sleeping per night for the last couple of days.  When I got up, Jeff and I went up to Little 5, and stopped in at Wax and Facts, and Satellite Records.  We headed back after I picked up some tite 311 stickers,  an Aphrodite CD, and some Okenfold tickets.  I was hungry, and since today was an out of the norm kind of day, I wanted to eat somewhere not-usual.  So, I went over to Georgia Tech with Alyssa and we chowed down at their dinning hall.  (just another of my attempts to leech off of GT's resources)... After pissing Alyssa off over something(?), she headed back to the dorms, and I decided to take a walk about around GT's campus.  I got over to the center of campus where the GT spire is.  They had a cool fountain and it was a nice place to sit and ponder... so.. I did.  A couple of dudes were nearby strumming and singing on their acoustic guitars, and with the weather, and fountain and whatnot, it was a good place and time for thinking.  I got a couple thoughts in and chilled for awhile before trekking back to the dorms.  All in all, not a hell of a lot happened today, which I 'spose in the end, is fine by me.
Wednesday, November 1, 2000 - 4:20 am!
311 !!!  - Well I haven't been back here at the dorm that long.  I think I walked in the door at 3 am... from the very kick assiest 311 show!  I had a chance to meet and talk with the band!!!  Here's the novel of my 311 Halloween Night:
The night started with Alyssa and I goin down and gettin the tix and then hookin up with my friend Chris and some of his friends inside the Tabernacle.  We all stood around drinkin and chillin' for a while, but Chris had to jet for some reason... but both his friends and I are still baffled as to his whereabouts.  Nevertheless, Zebrahead busted on to the stage all dressed up like Limp Bizkit.  Zebrahead was damn good, and really played into the crowd and had everyone into it.   After Zebrahead finished I worked my way through the crowd up to the front next to the stage... It was tight as hell and oven hot... But I was determined to get up in there like I did last Halloween for 311... However, once 311 came on stage, that scene got nasty... I missed watching much of any of the first 3 songs 'cause I was busy trying to push people off me and keep from falling down from the swaying masses of people...  Since I was there to see the show, I decided to bail on the stage side action, and pulled out. (safety first).... After getting some H2O and regrouping, I headed in again but this time stayed about halfway down on the Tabernacle main floor.  That spot worked out for me.  Good view, crowded, but not too crowded... Good vibe...  311 came out decked out in costume... Nick came out as Superman (with the band playing  the REM remake "Superman").  311 threw down some kick butt tunes and generally had it going on.  The played some new tunes, and a few cuts that they don't play often.  After the show I bought a tour shirt and went outside and socialized.  I looked for Alyssa since we were separated inside, but another friend said she had left... So, I made my way around to the back to watch the band come out to their tour bus... After a good wait, P-Nut came out and worked his way signing autographs and chatting... He was real cool and real social... He had some cool shit to say: He said the band is going into the studio as soon as they get back, and said they want to get the new album out hopefully around May, but the impending legal problem with their label will need to be resolved first.  He signed my t-shirt as well... Chad Sexton came through signed the shirt... SA Martinez came through signed the big T... then... after a lil bit, Nick Hexum came out, and he spent some good time chattin and signing... I got to shake his hand and ask him about the sound of the new tunes, and he said that the first set of the tunes they have are like they ones they played tonite, but he said the 2nd half of the tunes they are collecting for the new album will be louder, faster, and heavier...  (he came out a couple more times before nights end and I had a chance to talk with him a couple more times... a very cool down to earth guy)... after a long ass wait, Tim Mahoney came out and signed stuff and talked to the remaining fans... He was also real cool and personable (and probably baked)... he signed the Tshirt of course and that ended my objective for the night... By this time it was like 230 am... I had to walk back to the dorms from the Tabernacle since MARTA shuts down at 1a... Walking Techwood at 3am is NOT something I recommend for the kiddies, but for this night, it was worth it...   That about sum's up my 311 night... A definite dream to meet and really feel like I chilled out with the band... It was awesome to be able to ask them questions and shake their hands.  Good tunes.  Good night.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Happy Halloween!!

311 !!!
- Preparations are underway to get ready to go to the show.  I knew something big was gearing up when I woke up from my nap after class with 10 missed calls, and 9 voicemails.  Right now I'm just trying to work out what I need to do and when...  more details later

Studying?  Again?!!
- I didn't do much today... (I don't say that often  ... note sarcasm)... I woke up late and then cleaned the fizuck out of my car.  I couldn't believe that Honda could actually hold THAT MUCH trash.  I'm sort of impressed... After that mess, I helped my step-dad with his computer and then met some friends for some Sunday night Taco-Bell.  Now... it's time to see what this "film" sideshow is all about...  First exam for my film class this semester is tomorrow, so I guess I should go study for that.  eh?  Indeed... (raises arms like Superman, and flies away.  fade to black)

Movies Anyone?
- Slept late as all today... But well worth it... Got up and eventually stumbled back to Gwinnett to begin my Saturday night.  I had decided when I woke up that I wanted to go see that new movie Pay It Forward.  So... I did.  I met my brother Chris up at the AMC and we enjoyed a damn good movie.  If you want a good movie to see, then consider this it... After that was said and done, I headed down to spend some "Q" time with my buddy Chauffeur (Michael) at his pool hall Lucky Breaks.  I ended up staying there till like 5 am (and that's WITH the time change of falling back an hour).  Some friendly competition had broken out between some of the regulars and so it got interesting to watch and socialize.  Then... I went home, and swiftly to bed.

Rave
- After a HELLISH day at the "Z", I finally left work and stumbled in and almost went to bed, but of course it was too early (1am), so... I slipped on my rave pants and headed out to the Globe for whatever it was they had going on that night.  I had fun taking in the sights.  Even though there wasn't much of a crowd to speak of, the tunes were loud enough to drown out me from noticing too much.  It was good though, and a definite stress relief, which was much needed.  Also met a couple people and what-not.

Done Deed
- Well that test is done, and the fact that it didn't piss me off while I was taking it might be a good sign.  Time will tell... Went and had dinner with the fam' out at Macaroni Grill to celebrate Todd's birthday... good action.   In other news, I test drove a 99 Honda Prelude today.  I'm SO ready to get a new ride.  I'm trying to get some plans in the works to make it happen.  We'll see.
Wednesday, October 25, 2000 - 8:24 pm
Sideshow
- This sideshow where teachers have this bad habit of continuing to give me exams is getting old.  Don't they know that I DON'T LIKE THEM?  I've got to go study for a Philosophy exam, so keep it real (whatever that means.)

Thoughts
- Today I slept awfully late... It was a strange night last night, and well... I didn't get out of bed till late afternoon. Nevertheless, I tried to make the most of the day by cleaning my room and making a vain attempt to be semi-productive before the weekend came to a close. After my deeds were done in Lawrenceville, I began my trek back to the dorms. It was on the drive back that I came upon stand still traffic on I-85, near North Druid Hills. It was around 11 pm, and I reserved myself that I was in for the long haul. I put my car park and chilled out. I assumed it was a car accident, and around an hour later, once traffic began to inch forward, I found out for sure... They still had only one lane on the far right of the expressway open, and from the scattered bits and pieces, it was hard to tell what exactly had happened. One thing however, stood out from the rest of the imagery. A large unattended mass sat in the middle of the 3rd lane, lit from large floodlights on the nearby emergency vehicles. As police and emergency workers walked around surveying the scene and taking photographs, I edged closer, passing by. It was then that I saw the blood stained white sheet covering completely what could only be a victim of a quite serious car accident. Without a moment more to think, my car was passed the scene, and with only one lane of traffic open, I quickly found my car alone on the large interstate. It gave me time for solemn thought.
I rarely tone down to a serious level on here, and I generally try to stay positive, and continue that positive flow that I get from others. But I cannot ignore the thoughts of how quickly life as we know it can end. Thoughts like: Certainly that person had a family and friends who must now endure a hell of remorse and sorrow. And all that laid before that person to do in life is gone. There is no moral to my story, and no point that I intend to convey. Only the thought that it is unfortunate that such significant introspection on life can only come from the observation of the harsh and real mortality of others. We can only live on, and continue to keep the positivity alive.

Boo  - I got so scared I pee'd my pants!... OK well not really... I went down to Netherworld Haunted House tonight. I got the free hookup at work, and so some friends and I went down for some of that typical Halloween themed mayhem. After that was all said and done, it was time to drink (of course, duh). We had some fun playing PlayStation, and watching a tape full of Simpsons episodes till all hours of the morning. (an excellent combo if you are ever bored.)

Rave: Suspended In Space - Went down to the Globe and checked out Hardware and others spin at "Suspended In Space". Good tunes, and not a bad venue made for a refreshing way to spend Friday night. The sound system was very if'y. The audio kept popping in the outdoor Jungle area, and inside, the audio on Hardware's set just dropped out a few times for no reason. Other then those small sideshows, I had a good time. It was cool bumping into my friend AJ from Film class. That bastard, and his other friends, managed to scam their way in for free by helping the promoter/venue setup some of the gear. Not a bad deal. Good tunes, scamy audio, good time.
Thursday, October 19, 2000 - 8:29 am
Asymptote "This"  - Calculus test today...  Ok, I'm going to go eat biscuits at the Wendy's downstairs.
Wednesday, October 18, 2000 - 1:10 am
Just hangin'  - Presidential Debate=yawn factory.... But PlayStation action=funville...  Jeff and I did some game action and tossed back some bev's.... Not much else going on that's worth mentioning here... Work has been a sideshow with our new digital system installation going on, and school has had it's own deeds... I guess that's it... By the way, sourdough bread=good. =)
Monday, October 9, 2000 - 5:14 pm
Cable TV  - Prompted by the viewing of Ty's hot dance video, I thought I'd post my own limited mental abilities by uploading my parody TV commercial... Click here to download (big download - approx 7 megs.)
Sunday, October 8, 2000 - 11:26 pm
Gulch?!  - It's that time... Sunday night when all the little kids get ready to start another week of scholastic excellence. (some restrictions apply)... I went over to Jeff's tonight where we hung with Kerry, Ty, and Tony.  We worked diligently to not get anything productive done other than watch the Simpsons and drink beer, which of course we did rather well.  After some techy talk about music, and keyboards, and sequencers, we adjourned.  Now I'm waiting for my laundry to dry... By the way, did I mention that it's nippley cold outside?  Does anyone want to talk about it?... If so, email me!  (even if you don't want to talk about it.)
Monday, October 2, 2000 - 2:40 am
Nippin' Out?
- Dirty Dancing was the flic, and "nippin' out" was the new word.  The gathering commenced at Kerry's pad with some brisk abuse of Dirty Dancing and Halloween costume's.  Apparently I'm either a fireman or Barney Rubble.  Anyhow, the night was more education as I learned the meaning of "nippin' out".  Which is the result of nipple + coldness.  I had also had never heard of the "band-aid trick".  Band Aid should have that listed on the outside of the box as a possible use.  I'm bettin they'd sell more...

I Did What To Who?'
- Well Liquified Universe was a blast last night.  My friend Jeremiah and I went up around and got in the door around 1am.  The venue (North Atlanta Trade Center) was definitely living large.  There were several rooms there to go and explore and chill in.  The tunes were big.  When we got there Josh Wink had just gone on and was goin nutz.  Digweed came on around 3am and rocked hard for what seemed like forever.   There were tons of people at this place, and I think I saw everyone I've seen at previous parties all packed in there.  Without getting into a lot of yawn-inducing detail, I will sum it up and say that it was "good action", worth the price of admission.

Ravin'
- Gone to Liquified Universe... more details later.
Friday, September 29, 2000
Rave
- I went ravin' again... Big surprise?  Nah... Anyhow, I checked out the action at the Masquerade tonight.  Analog Pussy, DJ 43, and DJ Keri all did good sets.  Analog Pussy was a nice change of pace since there was actual "performance" going on instead of just plain spinning.  And DJ Keri was gettin a serious groove on while  singing and spinning.  I did get to see some dancer's nipple by the nights end, so I guess I will say it was a good deal. (?)

"The Who"?
- Free tickets and free time meant good action for Alyssa, Jeff, Matt, and myself.  We took in the Who concert tonight at Philips Arena.  Good tunes and fun made for a memorable evening.  Pete Townsend did a sweet acoustic guitar solo number that I couldn't tell you much about because of my limited breadth of classic rock knowledge.  (bows head in shame).. After it was all said and done though, we enjoyed some quality chill time in the ACC HQ here at the dorms.

Tuesday Wrap-up
- Well the day was an early start... and what a brisk one.  A chilly 50-something outside greeted me when I met Jeff and Kerry at the gate of the Village to make the long journey to campus.  I hafta say that I am enjoying  this fall weather though.  "It's good action."  Anyhew, class today produced the fruit of my labors on two exams that I took last week.  "B" and a "C" in Calculus and Philosophy respectively.  Not "too" shabby as my expectations were somewhat less than the end result.  God love the use of the "curve".  Onward to work where the radio station buzzed with a pretty busy pace of work... And after a visit from my buddy Cordes, I took off and had dinner with my friend Jeremiah.  It took a while for us to figure out where the hell we wanted to go, and after almost giving up and heading to Taco Bell, we hit Rio Bravo instead.  We had a feast and chit some good chat, and complained about women, work, and life -- productive stuff.  The night ended not too far after and that brings us to here.  So hi!... Welcome to "here"!... um, I'm going to bed now... heh, nite.

  Weekend Wrap-up
Goa
- Mother Nature decided it would be best for us to do the Camp Fatty Campout another day, so we're rescheduling the Goa-fun-in-the-woods.  Keep checking back here, but for now we are looking to give it another go on October 7th.  Stay tuned in.  Click here for the flier.
Friday Night
- This day was a haze.  Started out somewhat inebriated, and ended with me babysitting a friend.  Craziness.
Saturday Night:  Rave: Sonic Equinox
- The Atrium played host to Sonic Equinox on Saturday night.  I enjoyed hearing Sandra Collins, and Joshua Ryan spin some good trance, and thought Odi did some very cool jungle.  Quite a turnout too.  This one was much more crowded than Mirage was, most likely because of Sandra Collins being a name.  I know that when I left at 4 am, there was still quite a line.  One complaint is that the jungle room is too fucking hot.  They need to figure out what the deal is on that action though.  Even with that, it was still a good time, and worth going.
Saturday Night continued... - I left Sonic Equinox at 4 am to meet up with my friend at Backstreets.  This place was wild as usual, and just got more crowded the later it got despite the fact that it was already 4am!  After hanging out with a couple friends there, I eventually decided that 8 am would be late enough, and I headed back to the dorm to crash, only after getting some Wendy's breakfast action downstairs of course
going.
Sunday - After my body decided that 5 pm would be a good time to wake up, I got up and proceeded to head back to Lawrenceville to pick up various items from my house, and to just get out of the freaking dorm for a while.  When I stopped in at the convenient, and always tasty Taco Bell, I was approached by some kind strangers who asked if I liked 311... Well needless to say, we began to chit-the-chat on 311, and hung out in the parking lot to burn through some thoughts and memories.  All I know is Chris has it goin' on, and I hope that stranger drops me a line sometime soon.  That dude is my kinda people.

Today
- I'm fealin' worn down.  Steve and I stayed up late last night cramin' for the Calculus test that I just took.  I have no idea how I did, and I dare not speculate, because every time I think I did well, I did shitty, and anytime I think I did shitty... well I did shitty... but not always!... Therefore, if we take the derivative of that... oh wait.. Damnit!

Thoughts...
- Weather is still kickin' ass outside, and after getin' some good skating in and various errands this weekend, I guess it's time to hit the rat race.  What a sideshow.  Still making changes to the website, and have completed the move over to the new home at www.adamcaskey.com.  We'll see how well this works out...  This is settin' up to be a busy week already though, and somehow we're gonna hafta squeeze cheese some fun into this thing.

Hmmm...
- It's a rare night, and I have the window open cause the weather happens to be kicking ass... I'm looking out the window and I can't decide if someone in a room across the way has a poster of Jim Morrison, or David Hasselhoff hanging up.  I guess since I can't tell for sure, it's up for interpretation right?... I mean... yea, yea, I'm just going to go with that.  Yea, I think that.
Rave: Taylor
- Went to see Taylor spin at the Masquerade, regardless of the fact that we had men down every-freakin-where!... Jeff Peterson got ill, Ty bailed, and Mikey Peterson was there, but I never found him... nevertheless it was a good party.  I was in primo form as usual, and I enjoyed the massive tunes.  It's real easy now to pick out the same people who come to every party.  Where do they come from, and what is their story?

Thoughts...
- Woke up today feeling like my positivity had been recharged.  I'm hoping that this will lead to some good things this week.  Other than that, it's the typical rat race, but as usual, one endeavors to put their unique and special spin on it.

Rave: 'Til Dawn
- Good rave.  I had looked forward to checkin this party out for a while.  A friend of mine had turned me on to DJ Baby Anne, and this was my first chance to see her spin live.  I also got some grins from hearing AK 1200 go at it.  The special treat was dancin with Baby Anne during AK's set.  =)

Rave: Outerlimits
- Yet another rave down at the Masquerade this weekend, this after being moved from its original venue, SciTrek.  The event wasn't  as big as last weekend's Purple Haze, but it was great all the same.   DJ Sandy, PM Dawn, Scott Henry, and Mickey Finn were some of the notable appearances that spun a great set.  The vibe was kickin and the people were positive.  Good wholesome fun  ;-)

My Birthday
- My big day busted out with big results.  Close friends and Z93 DJ's Kaedy Kiely and Dave Marino took me out to eat and then arranged a big 'ole bowling throw down with several of our other friends.   Played quite a few games, but my best results produced a 146.

Rave: Purple Haze
- Checked out the rave Purple Haze with some kickin results.  It was my first time seeing a rave at the Masquerade, and I was impressed...   Better than I thought it would be.  All the ingredients for a good rave were present last night and DJ Icey was awesome.  It was also a tite thrill to see my friend Jeff, aka DJ Invisible spinin' last nite.   He threw down a rockin' Goa set.  Way to go Jeff!
